Across South Lebanon, families displaced by conflict are facing mounting food insecurity. CARE International in Lebanon has so far distributed over 4,800 food parcels and ready-to-eat meals, delivering around 1,600 items per convoy as part of a sustained and ongoing emergency response.

Behind every distribution are stories that stay with you.

“Children here are going through so much. Seeing young kids visibly affected by months of food insecurity is a reminder that behind every parcel is a child who deserves better.” — Ali Safwan, Project Manager

The needs remain urgent, and our response continues.

Over 1 million people have been forced to flee their homes in March and April this year. That’s equivalent to everyone in central London being told to leave.

Today 30% of migrant workers in Lebanon have been displaced. Despite the ceasefire, the crisis continues. Many people have been left without jobs and incomes while needs are still overwhelming and urgent.

We met Kumari who, now unemployed, is also living with high blood pressure and diabetes without stable access to care - “I don’t know how I will afford my medicine.”

Our team in Lebanon is working consistently to make sure those who need it most are receiving food, water, mattresses and dignity kits. Please donate to support our work, link in bio.

Even after the ceasefire, the consequences of the recent escalation continue to shape the daily reality of women and girls across Lebanon. Many who are displaced have lost their jobs as a result of the escalation and are currently unemployed, and for some, the loss of their homes has deepened their vulnerability.

In this context, access to basic support is not only essential, it is urgent. Beyond material needs, many women and girls are coping with trauma resulting from violence and airstrikes, highlighting the critical importance of psychological first aid and mental health support.

CARE International in Lebanon, in partnership with SIDC, continues to stand alongside women and girls by providing essential assistance, including dignity items such as shampoo, soap, toothbrushes, and sanitary pads, alongside psychological first aid to support them in processing trauma and beginning their recovery with dignity.

Advancing Institutional Collaboration for Sustainable Agriculture

CARE has the honor to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Agriculture, under the esteemed leadership of His Excellency Dr. Nizar Hani, Minister of Agriculture, marking a significant milestone in a long-standing and trusted partnership.

This MoU marks an important milestone in a trusted partnership and reflects a shared vision for a resilient, inclusive, and sustainable agricultural sector.
It establishes a structured framework for strategic coordination, technical cooperation, and mutual knowledge exchange, while reaffirming the central role of national institutions in shaping and stewarding sustainable agricultural systems.

Through this strengthened partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, CARE reaffirms its commitment to supporting national priorities, enhancing institutional capacities, and contributing to coherent and effective support for farmers and rural communities. Such institutional partnerships are fundamental to ensuring that development and humanitarian efforts translate into durable, locally anchored impact.

CARE looks forward to deepening this collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and key stakeholders, in service of resilient livelihoods and a sustainable future for agriculture.
