CELIM operates in Lebanon since 2013, where is currently implementing two projects:

1.DOT OLIVE, in the Southern District of Hasbaya, aims at improving the production efficiency and the quality of the Olive oil, sustaining a stable access to the national and international market and reducing the environmental impact.

2.SWMC (Securing Women Migration Cycle), targeting migrant women trapped in

the kafala system and helping them by providing shelter and medical, psychological and legal assistance until their return to their countries of origin.

How many people does it take to implement a project?

The WASTE or RESOURCE project has come to an end.

What an incredible journey it has been. Over these past four years, we have literally faced it all — challenges, unexpected situations, obstacles, and moments that tested us in every possible way.

But we did it together.

Today, we want to say, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you to every team member, partner, worker, and supporter who played a part in this journey.

Your dedication, commitment, teamwork, and hard work made this achievement possible.

This project is not just the result of plans, activities, and milestones. It is the result of people coming together, believing in a shared goal, and turning challenges into impact.

📍 Key milestones towards sustainable waste management in Hasbaya ♻️

Over the past days, important steps have been achieved to support the long-term operation of the Hasbaya Waste Management Facility and strengthen municipal waste management.

✔️ A visit to the waste disposal site to assess the current situation and discuss future improvements.
✔️ Handover of the facility’s operational manuals to Hasbaya Municipality, followed by a visit to the Waste Management Facility.
✔️ Presentation and discussion of the Waste Collection and Sorting Questionnaire Analysis Report with the municipality.

These milestones contribute to enhancing the operational sustainability of the facility, improving waste management practices, and supporting informed decision-making for a cleaner and more sustainable Hasbaya.

محطات أساسية نحو إدارة مستدامة للنفايات في حاصبيا

شهدت الأيام الماضية تنفيذ مجموعة من الخطوات المهمة لدعم التشغيل المستدام لمركز حاصبيا لجمع وفرز ومعالجة النفايات الصلبة وتعزيز إدارة النفايات على المستوى البلدي

✔️ زيارة إلى موقع التخلّص من النفايات لتقييم الوضع الحالي ومناقشة سبل التحسين المستقبلية
✔️ تسليم الأدلة التشغيلية للمركز إلى بلدية حاصبيا، تلاها زيارة ميدانية إلى مركز إدارة النفايات
✔️ عرض ومناقشة تقرير تحليل استبيان جمع وفرز النفايات مع البلدية

تسهم هذه المحطات في تعزيز استدامة تشغيل المركز، وتحسين ممارسات إدارة النفايات، ودعم اتخاذ قرارات مبنية على البيانات من أجل حاصبيا أكثر نظافة واستدامة

The first steps are underway! 🤝

Our team visited the project site in Jounieh to meet with the parish team, volunteer coordinators, and the contractor overseeing the renovation works.

Together, we reviewed the progress of the future social center, discussed upcoming activities, and began coordinating the volunteer-led initiatives that will bring the space to life, including after-school support for children and language classes.

This marks the beginning of a collaborative journey to create a welcoming space that promotes inclusion, learning, and community engagement.

Stay tuned as we continue sharing the project’s progress.

📢 We are pleased to launch "Paths of Dignity and Integration", a new initiative that aims to promote dignity, inclusion, and protection for migrant women and men workers in Lebanon.

Through the establishment of a multifunctional social center and a range of educational, vocational, psychosocial, and legal support services, the project will create opportunities for learning, participation, and empowerment.

Over the next years, we will share stories, activities, and achievements from the project journey. Stay tuned.

As part of the continued collaboration between CELIM and Rashaya Al Foukhar Municipality, a financial contribution of $2,500 was delivered to support relief efforts and assist the local community during these challenging times, alongside the handover of the Solid Waste Management assessment and plan developed under the waste management project. ♻️

We believe that local cooperation and sustainable action remain essential to supporting communities and strengthening their resilience.

From an open dumpsite to a step toward more sustainable waste management in Hasbaya. At the beginning of 2026, excavation works began for the development of a Waste Management Facility including a sanitary landfill, composting and recycling facilities, in collaboration with the Municipality of Hasbaya. A step toward reducing environmental harm and supporting healthier communities in South Lebanon.

من مكبّ عشوائي مفتوح شكّل لسنوات مصدرًا للضرر البيئي، إلى خطوة نحو مستقبل أكثر استدامة لإدارة النفايات في حاصبيا

مع بداية عام 2026، انطلقت أعمال الحفريات لإنشاء مركز متكامل لإدارة النفايات يضم مطمرًا صحيًا ومنشآت للتسميد وإعادة التدوير، وذلك بالتعاون مع بلدية حاصبيا

خطوة تهدف إلى الحدّ من التلوث البيئي، تحسين إدارة النفايات، ودعم مجتمعات أكثر صحة واستدامة في جنوب لبنان
