In May/June 2026, Acted Lebanon conducted an assessment of the effects of the conflict on the agriculture sector in 3 Districts in Lebanon (Saida, Hasbaya and Baalbek) . The assessment entitled « Lebanon’s Agriculture under Strain » provides a rapid diagnostic of agricultural livelihoods constraints, value chain disruption, production capacity, market access and recovery priorities among farmers and agri-food MSMEs in the targeted Districts.
خلال شهري أيار وحزيران 2026، أجرت Acted في لبنان تقييماً لآثار النزاع على القطاع الزراعي في ثلاثة أقضية لبنانية هي صيدا وحاصبيا وبعلبك. ويقدّم التقييم، المعنون «الزراعة في لبنان تحت الضغط»، تشخيصاً سريعاً لأبرز التحديات التي تواجه سبل العيش الزراعية، والاضطرابات التي طالت سلاسل القيمة، والقدرات الإنتاجية، والوصول إلى الأسواق، إلى جانب تحديد أولويات التعافي لدى المزارعين والمؤسسات المتناهية الصغر والصغيرة والمتوسطة العاملة في قطاع الأغذية الزراعية ضمن المناطق المستهدفة.

🌍 World Humanitarian Day: To those who choose solidarity

When crises overlap and multiply, when uncertainty grows and fragile balances come under increasing strain, we witness women and men bringing solidarity to life every day. We see communities rebuild, adapt and reinvent themselves. They are neighbours, farmers, social workers, local representatives, engineers, teachers and many others, stepping up where they live. Alongside them, our 4,376 staff members put their skills and commitment at the service of this collective strength. Every day, they listen, care, negotiate humanitarian access, repair water networks, monitor the quality of infrastructure, collect essential data, and ensure that aid reaches those most in need. Beyond their professionalism, their work is grounded in trust, proximity and solidarity. What drives them is a shared determination to help restore hope, dignity and social cohesion. On 19 August, World Humanitarian Day is dedicated to them.

Since 1 April 2026, Acted, with the participation of the Crisis and Support Centre of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs (CDCS), has been supporting displaced and vulnerable families affected by the renewed escalation in Lebanon through the Multi-sectoral Response to Emergency Needs in Beirut, Mount Lebanon, South and El Nabatieh Governorates.
As part of this response, Acted distributed 191 baby kits to 184 families with children under two years old, alongside 1,830 mini hygiene kits reaching 1,830 families and 796 family hygiene kits reaching 796 families.Acted teams also distributed 18 centre kits across 18 shelters (9 in South Lebanon and 9 in Beirut and Mount Lebanon) to support cleaning, sanitation and waste management in shared accommodation.
From assessing needs and coordinating with site representatives to preparing and transporting the kits, supporting registration and organizing the final handover, Acted teams managed each stage of the distribution to ensure that assistance reached displaced families safely, efficiently and with dignity. These distributions form part of Acted’s wider integrated emergency response, combining shelter, WASH, food security and protection support to collective sites.

منذ الأول من نيسان/أبريل 2026، تقوم منظمة أكتد (Acted)، بمشاركة مركز الأزمات والدعم التابع لوزارة أوروبا والشؤون الخارجية الفرنسية (CDCS)، بدعم العائلات النازحة والأسر الأكثر ضعفًا المتأثرة بتصاعد الأحداث المجدد في لبنان، وذلك من خلال مشروع: الاستجابة متعددة القطاعات للاحتجاجات الطارئة في محافظات بيروت، وجبل لبنان، والجنوب، والنبطية.
كجزء من هذه الاستجابة، وزّعت أكتد 191 مستلزمات خاصة بالأطفال الرضع لـ 184 عائلة لديها أطفال دون سن الثانية، إلى جانب 1,830 مستلزمات نظافة استفادت منها 1,830 عائلة، و796 مستلزمات نظافة عائلية وصلت إلى 796 عائلة.
كما وزّعت فرق منظمة أكتد 18 مستلزمات نظافة للمراكز عبر 18 مركز إيواء (9 مراكز في جنوب لبنان و9 مراكز في بيروت وجبل لبنان) لدعم أعمال التنظيف والصرف الصحي وإدارة النفايات في أماكن الإقامة المشتركة.
وابتداءً من تقييم الاحتياجات وصولاً إلى التسليم النهائي، أدارت فرق أكتد مراحل التوزيع لضمان وصول المساعدات إلى العائلات النازحة بأمان وبما يحفظ كرامتهم، ضمن استجابة أكتد الشاملة والمتكاملة للطوارئ.

🌱 Lebanon: Growing resilience through climate-smart agriculture and community action

In Akkar’s Al Ostuan River Basin, Acted is supporting communities address environmental, economic and social challenges through the Humaniterra project, contributing to the 3ZERO vision: Zero Exclusion, Zero Carbon, Zero Poverty.

💧 Supporting climate-smart agriculture: Through Cash-for-Work activities,
- 76 women and men engaged in the construction of 25 climate-resilient greenhouses
- Greenhouses equipped with rainwater harvesting, passive ventilation and drip irrigation systems
- 2,280 workdays to be generated

🌍 Promoting environmental awareness and social cohesion: Through trainings on climate action, water conservation and peaceful dialogue,
- 40 environmental awareness sessions delivered
- 321 participants reached
- 1,600 households targeted through water conservation awareness activities

Across nine municipalities in the Al Ostuan River Basin in Akkar, Acted, with the support of the Crisis and Support Centre of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, is implementing the Humaniterra project, which combines climate-resilient agriculture with community environmental awareness.
Building on its field presence in Akkar, Acted is installing 25 bi-span greenhouses through Cash-for-Work activities. The greenhouses are equipped with passive ventilation, integrated rainwater-harvesting systems and drip-irrigation networks to help local farmers improve agricultural production and use water more efficiently. Through the Cash-for-Work component, 76 women and men are contributing 2280 workdays to the installation process.In parallel, Mada Association is delivering community environmental-awareness sessions for 321 participants, covering climate change, sustainable agriculture, water conservation, soil degradation, food waste and environmental protection. Al Hadatha Association is delivering community training on conflict management and non-violent communication to promote peaceful dialogue and strengthen social cohesion for 200 partcipants.
في تسع بلديات ضمن حوض نهر الأسطوان في عكار، تنفّذ Acted، بدعم من مركز الأزمات والدعم التابع لوزارة أوروبا والشؤون الخارجية الفرنسية، مشروع «Humaniterra »، الذي يجمع بين الزراعة القادرة على التكيّف مع تغيّر المناخ والتوعية البيئية المجتمعية.استنادًا إلى حضورها الميداني في عكار، تعمل Acted، من خلال أنشطة النقد مقابل العمل، على تركيب 25 بيتًا محميًا زراعيًا مزدوجًا مزوّدًا بتهوية طبيعية، وأنظمة متكاملة لحصاد مياه الأمطار، وشبكات للري بالتنقيط، بهدف مساعدة المزارعين المحليين على تحسين الإنتاج الزراعي واستخدام المياه بكفاءة أكبر. ومن خلال مكوّن النقد مقابل العمل، يساهم 75 امرأة ورجلًا في 2280 يوم عمل لدعم أعمال التركيب.وبالتوازي، تنفّذ جمعية مدى جلسات توعية بيئية مجتمعية لصالح 321 مشاركًا ومشاركة، تتناول تغيّر المناخ، والزراعة المستدامة، وترشيد استخدام المياه، وتدهور التربة، وهدر الغذاء، وحماية البيئة. كما تنفّذ جمعية الحداثة تدريبات مجتمعية ل 200 مشاركًا ومشاركة حول إدارة النزاعات والتواصل اللاعنفي، بهدف تعزيز الحوار السلمي وتقوية التماسك الاجتماعي.

After 15 years in Lebanon, two migrant women were pushed into extreme vulnerability as the compounded crises and the impact of the 2024 conflict left them struggling to meet even their most basic needs.

With support from the Lebanon Humanitarian Fund (LHF), life-saving cash assistance provided them with the means to stay safe, cover essential needs, and regain a sense of stability during a critical period.
