Beirut-based community artist, Ahmad Sayyed, is at risk of losing both his home and his atelier — the place where he lives, works, and continues his practice.
Due to the ongoing war and its economic impact, work opportunities have become extremely limited. Like many others, Ahmad has seen his income disappear while living costs remain. He has now been given 7 days to pay $1,200 to his landlord. Without this payment, he will lose both his housing and his workspace.
The current situation in Beirut and across Lebanon is placing increasing pressure on daily life. Airstrikes in multiple areas, infrastructure damage, and widespread displacement have made it difficult for people to maintain stable work or housing. Many are relying on personal networks and community support to get through this period.
For Ahmad, this request is about maintaining a basic level of stability — having a place to stay and continue his work.
