This project, funded by the French Embassy in Lebanon, is to help Syrian refugees and Lebanese host communities consistently enjoy their basic Human Rights and apply collaborative, conflict-sensitive and non-violent responses to rising communal tensions. OBJECTIVES:
• Engaging 80 community leaders from Lebanese and Syrian affiliations in the discussion of community issues and possible solutions du
ring roundtables in 8 conflict prone areas in Northern Bekaa
• Developing a well-defined mechanism of social cohesion by training 80 local community leaders and 160 young Syrian refugees and young Lebanese community members on necessary tools and techniques of co-existence and peace building.
• Training 80 local community leaders and 160 young Syrian refugees and young Lebanese community members on needs assessment and involving them in an extensive needs analysis exercise in 8 conflict-prone areas in Northern Bekaa
• Drafting and designing 8 action plans for inter-communal projects in these areas
• Implementing 8 joint projects for community cohesion in the 8 targeted communities and designing a scheme of funding small community projects in collaboration with at least four international organizations and agencies operating in Lebanon.
