Every learner deserves a learning experience designed for them.

As part of the Leadership for Learning through Displacement Project in collaboration with the International Rescue Committee, North Fellows joined an in-person Universal Design for Learning (UDL) training in Tripoli on May 22, alongside online sessions held on May 21 & 23 for fellows across different regions.

Led by trainer Carol Eid, the sessions focused on strengthening fellows’ understanding of inclusive education, learner diversity, and practical UDL strategies to design accessible learning experiences that reduce barriers and support all students.

Building classrooms where every student can learn, participate, and thrive.

Supporting students today requires learning environments that are both emotionally supportive and adaptable to their evolving needs. With the support of , Teach For Lebanon Fellows conducted a series of training sessions focused on Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and Hybrid Learning & Online Learning Tools, engaging educators in practical approaches that strengthen both student well-being and learning experiences. These sessions explored social awareness, positive social skills, hybrid learning principles, and digital tools that can help educators create more inclusive, engaging, and student-centered classrooms. By equipping educators with these skills and approaches, they continue to support learning environments where students can feel supported, connected, and empowered to thrive.

Are you interested in supporting children’s education through times of crisis?
Join Teach For Lebanon’s Cohort 18 and become the steady presence a student needs when learning is disrupted.
Our Fellows don’t just teach when conditions are ideal—they show up in the hardest moments because they know that for many students, that connection is everything.
For Fellow Haya, that meant staying connected to her students even after school closures displaced them across different communities in Lebanon. Through online lessons, WhatsApp messages, voice notes, and regular check-ins, she worked to ensure her students knew they were not alone.
After weeks of silence, one student sent a voice message saying they missed class, were doing their best to stay engaged, and wanted to know how Haya was doing too.
Since then, the student has gradually re-engaged in learning.

The Fellowship isn’t easy—and that’s intentional. It challenges Fellows to step into real classrooms, face real obstacles, and grow through them. Along the way, those challenges turn into opportunities: to learn, to lead, and to make a lasting impact on students’ lives. If you’re ready to grow as an educator and a leader, this journey is for you. Apply now!

Through a recent knowledge transfer session on Trauma-Informed Practices, 45 educators from public, semi-private, and private schools came together to explore how to better support students experiencing stress and trauma.

Led by our fellows Areej Makkawi and Israa Hassan, the session created a space for educators to reflect, share, and strengthen their approaches to building safe and supportive learning environments.

With the support of the Education Above All Foundation, and through collaborative discussions and practical strategies, Fellows continue to extend their impact beyond their own classrooms and teachers are better equipped to recognize students’ emotional needs and respond with empathy—contributing to healthier, more supportive classrooms for all.

Not all climate action starts with large-scale solutions.

In Lebanese public schools, students are transforming everyday materials into meaningful environmental projects, from repurposed pipes turned into green spaces to plastic waste reimagined into art installations.

Through these student-led initiatives supported by Ipsos, young people are not only learning about climate awareness, they are actively shaping the communities around them.

Read the full article “Growing Climate Leaders” on our website and discover how students are turning small actions into lasting impact.
