Respected Sir,
Greetings.
We, members of the Telangana Muslim diaspora residing in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries—Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, and Oman—would like to express our deep concern and disappointment regarding the recently constituted Telangana NRI Advisory Committee.
It has come to our notice that not a single Muslim representative has been included in this committee, despite the significant contribution of Telangana Muslims abroad, especially in the Gulf region. As you are well aware, over 65% of the Telangana workforce in GCC countries consists of Muslims, many of whom are active in community development, welfare services, and have long-standing engagements with NRI welfare initiatives.
This omission not only undermines the representation of our community but also contradicts the spirit of inclusive governance and secular values which the Indian National Congress has always upheld.
We respectfully urge the following:
Immediate review of the current committee's composition.
Inclusion of active and credible Muslim NRI community leaders from the GCC region.
Formal inquiry into the selection process to ensure transparency and representation for all communities.
We are confident that under your leadership, this concern will be taken seriously and appropriate steps will be initiated to address this exclusion.
We remain at your disposal for further discussion and can provide a list of recommended community leaders for your consideration.
