At the 8th Asian Borderlands Research Network (ABRN) Conference in Taiwan, around 150 experts from 37 countries came together to discuss how borders in Asia are being reimagined in times of global change. Rather than viewing borders solely as lines of division, the conference highlighted their growing role as dynamic spaces of connection shaped by mobility, environmental challenges, and regional cooperation.

The Hanns Seidel Foundation Korea contributed to the discussions by sharing perspectives on rethinking borders through cooperation, dialogue, and transboundary exchange in Northeast Asia. The conference provided valuable opportunities to strengthen international networks and promote collaborative approaches to peace, sustainability, and regional understanding.
