서울영우라이온스클럽

서울영우라이온스클럽 세계 인류 상호간의 이해심 배양과 증진, 지역 사회의 복지 및 생활 개선을 위해 설립된 국제 봉사 단체 -국제라이온스협회 354-D지구 [서울영우라이온스클럽]

지역사회 발전과 세계 발전을 위하여 봉사의 영역을 넓혀야 한다는 신념으로 미국인 멜빈 존스(Melvin Jones:1879~1961)에 의하여 창설된 단체이다. 미국 내 9개주 22개 클럽에서 36명의 대표가 모여, “Liberty, Intelligence, Our Nation’s Safety” 라는 슬로건하에 머리글자를 따서 단체의 이름을 정하였다. 1920년 캐나다 온타리오주 윈저시에서 첫 해외 클럽을 조직하고 명칭을 라이온스국제협회로 개칭하였다.
