Building on its recent Washington Doorknock and inaugural K-Doorknock visits, AMCHAM shared key takeaways and perspectives gathered through meetings with U.S. policymakers and key stakeholders, while discussing ways to deliver tangible results from U.S.-Korea trade and investment commitments, strengthen Korea’s business environment, and advance transparent, predictable, and globally aligned regulatory policies.

AMCHAM Korea was pleased to meet with Democratic Party of Korea Floor Leader Han Byung-do today to exchange views on the future of the U.S.-Korea economic partnership and Korea’s global competitiveness. Drawing on its recent Washington Doorknock and inaugural K-Doorknock visits, AMCHAM shared key takeaways and perspectives gathered through meetings with U.S. policymakers and key stakeholders, underscoring the importance of continued dialogue between policymakers and the business community. The discussion also covered the digital economy, AI and advanced industries, as well as the importance of regulatory predictability for companies investing and operating in Korea.

AMCHAM Korea was honored to welcome U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Michelle Steel for an executive breakfast roundtable with senior leaders from the U.S. business community in Korea. This marked Ambassador Steel’s first official engagement with the U.S. business community in Korea since assuming her post, building on her meeting with AMCHAM Chairman and CEO James Kim at the U.S. Embassy during her first week in Korea.

Bringing together senior executives from leading U.S. companies across key industries, the discussion provided an opportunity for business leaders to share perspectives on the opportunities and challenges facing American companies in Korea and explore ways to further strengthen U.S.-Korea trade and investment. Participants also discussed opportunities for continued collaboration between the U.S. Embassy and AMCHAM, including Freedom 250 initiatives commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States.

AMCHAM looks forward to working closely with Ambassador Steel and the U.S. Embassy to support American businesses, expand bilateral trade and investment, and advance the shared priorities of our two countries.
