아프리카인사이트 최동환 이사장님과 WARESA Global 창립자이자 WARESA Korea 회장인 Lewis Nkenyereye 교수가 협약서에 서명했습니다.

이번 협약을 통해 앞으로 5년간 한-아프리카 협력 강화를 위해 공동 연구와 정책 제안, 교육 및 창업 지원, 문화교류 프로그램, 포럼과 네트워킹 행사 등을 함께 만들어갈 예정입니다.

🤝 Today, Africa Insight signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with WARESA (World African Researchers, Engineers, Entrepreneurs and Scientists Alliance).

The agreement was signed by our Chairperson, Mr. Donghwan Choi, and Professor Lewis Nkenyereye, Founder of WARESA Global and President of WARESA Korea.

Through this partnership, we will work together over the next five years on joint research, policy dialogue, education, entrepreneurship, cultural exchange, forums, and networking initiatives that strengthen Korea–Africa relations.

Together with outstanding partners, we look forward to connecting people and institutions and building a stronger, more sustainable future for Korea–Africa cooperation.

CALL FOR SENIOR RESEARCH FELLOWS AND RESEARCH MENTORS

The Center for Sustainability Analysis (CESUA), a think tank initiative of WARESA, invites experienced researchers, faculty members, PhD holders, postdoctoral researchers, and policy professionals to join its Research Fellowship Program.

CESUA seeks to establish a network of scholars dedicated to producing policy-relevant research on governance, public sector reform, international development, and sustainability.

Priority Research Areas:

• Government Spending Efficiency and Public Service Delivery

• Civil Service Compensation and Corruption in Public Governance

• Rethinking Development Cooperation: Toward a Distinctive Korea–Africa Partnership Model for the 21st Century

Selected Fellows will serve as research mentors and provide guidance to research teams composed of graduate and undergraduate students. Fellows will have opportunities to contribute to policy briefs, research reports, conferences, and collaborative publications under CESUA.

Expected Deliverables:

During the initial phase of the program, fellows will contribute to the development of:

• Policy Briefs (5–10 pages) presenting evidence-based policy recommendations.

• Research Working Papers (10–20 pages) on priority research themes.

• Annual CESUA Research Reports and policy recommendations.

• Conference presentations, webinars, and stakeholder dialogues.

• Research proposals for future externally funded projects.

Responsibilities:

• Provide academic guidance and mentorship.

• Review research outputs and policy briefs.

• Support the development of research proposals.

• Contribute to CESUA's research agenda and strategic direction.

Benefits:

• Opportunities for publication and international collaboration.

• Eligibility to lead future funded research projects under CESUA.

• Priority consideration for conference participation and speaking opportunities.

• Compensation or honoraria may be provided for successfully published policy briefs, research reports, and funded projects, subject to the availability of project funding and CESUA resources.

CESUA welcomes applications from scholars and professionals across Africa, Asia, Europe, and other regions who share an interest in evidence-based policymaking and sustainable development.

🤝 Waresa and African Insight Sign Strategic Partnership to Advance Korea–Africa Cooperation

Waresa is pleased to announce a strategic partnership with African Insight aimed at developing evidence-based research and policy recommendations for a distinctive Korea–Africa cooperation model for the 21st century.

Through this collaboration, the two organizations will bring together scholars, policymakers, practitioners, and key stakeholders to examine innovative approaches to strengthening Korea–Africa relations and promoting sustainable development, investment, education, and knowledge exchange.

The Chairperson of African Insight and Chair of its Board of Directors, H.E. Ambassador Dong-hwan Choi, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, noting that it will create opportunities to engage additional stakeholders, including the Korean Association of African Studies and other institutions committed to advancing Korea–Africa cooperation.

One of the key outcomes of this partnership will be the production of an annual report providing research-based insights and policy recommendations to support stronger and more effective Korea–Africa engagement.

Together, WARESA and African Insight look forward to contributing to informed dialogue, evidence-based policymaking, and a shared vision for the future of Korea–Africa relations.

A New Chapter for WARESA

We are delighted to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Africa Insight, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in our partnership.

Building on the strong mutual support and collaboration that already exist between our organizations, this MoU creates a valuable platform for generating practical ideas and policy recommendations on how African countries can learn from and benefit from the Korean development experience through stronger bilateral cooperation.

This initiative will be advanced through WARESA CESUA (Center for Sustainability Analysis), WARESA's think tank dedicated to research, policy analysis, and strategic dialogue. Through CESUA, we aim to produce evidence-based recommendations and strengthen knowledge exchange between Africa and Korea.
