The main purpose of Wine & Women Korea is to promote gender equality and enjoy wine by celebrating every month with sharing great wines and food as one global community. For women, WWK can be an opportunity to learn more about wine and wine culture(s), as well as to share their tasting experiences. For men, WWK can be a place to learn more about gender equality and endorse . Regarding our

history: WWK was founded on March 8th, 2006 by Catherine Germier Hamel with the purpose of bringing like-minded women together for networking and enjoying wine. While upholding this ultimate goal, (and free corkage!) the group has grown by incorporating new concepts into the mix. In 2014, WWK became a vocal supporter of UN Women’s and campaigns and has also taken on a more business friendly atmosphere. Since 2015 the group has seen more partnerships with newly established restaurants, exciting raffle prizes and educative sessions, to help build up this growing community in Seoul. Current WWK board members are EJ Bae, Rosalyn Laiken, and Suj Hong. With a diverse collection of backgrounds, the WWK board represents a cross-cultural blend of ideas and strategies for taking WWK to the next level in human rights, business networking, wine and food culture, and gender equality.

Dr. Gladys West, the mathematician whose work helped make GPS possible, has passed away at 95 🕊️

While working at the Navy’s research center in Dahlgren, she used advanced math and early computers to model the shape of the Earth and improve satellite calculations. Her work laid the foundation for the precise data that makes modern GPS possible.

A brilliant mind whose impact is felt every day around the world. Rest in peace.
