정보안심사회 실현을 위한 범국민운동 조직 (사)한국개인정보보호협의회를 필두로 한 50여개의 개인정보보호 관련 민간단체들이 참여, 2012년 3월 29일 발족(출범)했다. 3인의 공동대표 체제로서 산하에 운영위원회와 자문단,전문위원회와 추진단이 있다.
