Announcement!

Please be advised of the upcoming College Orientation and Student General Assembly scheduled on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at the CatSU Multipurpose Hall (near the CatSU Grandstand). The morning session will start from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and the afternoon session will begin from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Part 1 of the program, which includes the College Orientation and a Parent-Student Forum, is mandatory for all 1st-year and 4th-year students together with their parents.

Part 2 will be the Student General Assembly, which is also a mandatory attendance for all year levels.

Your presence is vital. We look forward to seeing you there!

|| 𝘾𝙖𝙩𝙎𝙐 𝘼𝙜𝙧𝙞𝙗𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙎𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝘽𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙣 600-𝙃𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙃𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙨-𝙤𝙣 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙩 𝙈𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙖 𝙁𝙖𝙧𝙢

𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐠𝐨 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐈𝐬𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐚 – Twenty-four Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness students from Catanduanes State University (CatSU) have launched a 600-hour hands-on training program at Minerva Farm in Sinsayon, Santiago City. Their first week has been packed with practical experience on land preparation, fish farming, fish fillet processing, and general fish processing methods. The students also gained insight into sustainable agriculture practices (including vermicast production using goat manure), business proposal development and the business aspects of food service through wedding catering.

These initial activities are just the start of their extensive training. Over the coming weeks, the CatSU agribusiness students will continue to develop these skills and explore other aspects of the sector. This immersive experience at Minerva Farm provides a valuable bridge between classroom learning and real-world application, preparing them for successful careers in the field of Philippine agriculture.

''TAGAS: Ang Bata sa Bintana ng Pag-asa"

Sa likod ng lumang bintana bakas ang pagsibol ng pag-asa sa mukha ng siyam na taong gulang na si James Damien T. Burral mas kilala sa tawag na"Tagas". Siya ay nagmula sa liblib na barangay ng Sugod-Tibgao,Virac, Catanduanes. Isang batang matiyagang nagsusunog ng kilay makamit lamang ang kanyang nais sa hinaharap. Bakas sa kanyang mga mata ang pag-asa at ningning sa kabila ng kahirapan. Isang ngiti na parang bulaklak sa tag-araw, simbolo ng kanyang di-matitinag na pananalig.

Si James, isang masipag na estudyante ng Virac Pilot Elementary School, nagliliyab sa sipag pagdating sa Agham, ang kanyang paboritong asignatura. Pangarap niyang maging pulis balang araw, inspirasyon niya ang kanyang ina na namamasukan bilang dishwasher sa blosom. Kayod-kalabaw para sa pangangailangan ng kanyang pamilya.

"Maghigos ka sana maski tios kita, James," payo ng kanyang tiya, si Jenyfer Boral, " Ang edukasyon an tunay na kayamanan, na dae mahahabon nino man."

Naging sandigan ni James ang kanyang tiyahin sa mga paghihirap. Ang mga salitang binitiwan nito ang gamot sa kanyang pusong nanlulumo. Tila baga isang kidlat na tumimo sa kanyang isipan.

Ang lumang bintana—simbolo ng pag-asang sumisikat—ay nagpapakita ng kanyang pag-unawa at positibong pananaw sa buhay. Kahit na sa gitna ng mga pagsubok na kanyang nararanasan bilang bata ang tanging hiling lamang ay may bukang liwayway na sisinag.

𝙉𝙀𝙒𝙎 𝙐𝙋𝘿𝘼𝙏𝙀 | Agribusiness Students Gain Valuable Skills in Entrepreneurship Training Workshop

Agribusiness students participated in the Entrepreneurship Training (BEST Game) as part of the Agribiz Nurture project, which took place at the Catsu Library Little Theater. The training sessions, held from September 4-5,2024 for the 1st batch and September 11-12, 2024, aimed to provide participants with essential skills in savings, investment, budgeting, production planning, and pricing. The training was led by former Agribusiness Ecofirm Society President Lito Dacuba, with guidance from adviser Ms. Fe Valledor. DTI resource speaker Ma'am Nyl Vi T. Bongalos, along with experts Mr. Cedric Manalo, John Robert Velchez, and Mr. Janster Bonavente, shared their knowledge and insights during the training. The event concluded with closing remarks from Ms. Krisha Nell Lopez on the last day.

The Agribusiness students recently took part in an enriching Entrepreneurship Training (BEST Game) organized under the Agribiz Nurture project. Held at the Catsu Library Little Theater, the event aimed to enhance students' financial literacy and business skills. The 1st batch, held on September 4-5, and the 2nd batch, on September 11-12, 2024, saw selected 1st and 4th-year students delving into topics such as savings, investment, budgeting, production planning, costing, and pricing.

The training featured DTI resource speaker Ma'am Nyl Vi T. Bongalos, who presented on the afternoon of day 2 along with experts Mr. Cedric Manalo and John Robert Velchez. Students actively engaged in modules covering basic business principles, understanding market demand, customer relations, and business enhancement.

Despite facing challenges, students embraced the practical aspects of manufacturing and retailing, fostering relationships with peers and showcasing dedication to learning. The organizers' perseverance and sacrifices in navigating unforeseen circumstances were commendable, with attendees expressing gratitude for the event's impactful experience.

The event highlighted the importance of a strong mindset and risk calculation as keys to success, illustrating students' commitment to honing their entrepreneurial acumen. Special thanks were extended to the event's leadership and the library operators for their dedication in facilitating a memorable and educational experience for all participants. The event concluded with closing remarks from Ms. Krisha Nell Lopez on the last day.
