To welcome newly arrived Muslim students pursuing their studies in South Korea, the Korea Muslim Community Students Wing organized a heartfelt and meaningful Freshers’ Orientation program on Sunday, April 5, after Zuhr prayer at Masjid Al-Aqsa in Busan. The purpose of this event was to support new students in their academic and social lives, foster mutual connections, and build a strong and cooperative Muslim student community.
Approximately 300 newly enrolled students from various universities in Busan participated in the program. The chief guest of the event was Jahangir Alam, Central Assistant Secretary General of the Korea Muslim Community. Special guests included Abdur Rahman Raju, Central Finance Secretary; Shamim Ahmed, President of the Professionals’ Wing; and Nurul Alam, President of the Busan Branch, along with other community leaders. The program was chaired by Harun Ibna Kaium, President of the Korea Muslim Community Students Wing.
The distinguished guests provided valuable guidance to the students. Their discussions highlighted experiences of studying in Korea, effective time management strategies, the importance of adapting to a new culture, and the value of mutual cooperation. They emphasized the importance of acquiring knowledge, upholding Islamic values, maintaining mutual respect, and fostering a positive mindset. It was also noted that unity, cooperation, and strong relationships are especially important for Muslim students living abroad.
The participating students had the opportunity to introduce themselves to one another and share their experiences, goals, and expectations.
The organizers expressed their hope that this initiative would create a supportive environment for new students and encourage their active participation in future educational, social, and cultural activities.
The opening speech was delivered by Agriculturist Rajib Hasan, Secretary of the Students Wing, and the program was moderated by Engineer Mahfuzur Rahman, a responsible member of the Busan Students Wing.
In his closing remarks, Engineer Harun Ibna Kaium, President of the Students Wing, wished the students academic success, personal growth, and a bright future. He expressed hope that this initiative would strengthen the bonds among Muslim students in South Korea and help build a positive and inspiring community.
The Korea Muslim Community Students Wing also affirmed that it will continue to support students by organizing various initiatives for their welfare in the future.
