On March 20, Korea Saemaul Undong Center(President GwangLim KIM​) held a completion ceremony for the Saemaul Undong Coordinators Training Program at the institute​.

A total of 15 Saemaul coordinators from 10 different countries participated in the program. Through lectures on implementation strategies, the drafting of specific action plans, and the sharing of success stories from various nations, participants deepened their understanding of Saemaul Undong and explored ways to localize the movement within their respective home countries.

The Saemaul Undong is conducting a five-day Saemaul training program from March 16 (Mon) to March 20 (Fri) for 15 SMU coordinators from 10 different countries.

During this period, the SMU coordinators​ will learn about Korea's Saemaul Undong experiences and success stories. They will also participate in technical training​ covering the roles of SMU coordinators​, project implementation, settlement and management, and manuals for Saemaul field training, while engaging in discussions on how to effectively apply Saemaul Undong in their respective countries.

As Saemaul Undong and the Saemaul Spirit serve as exemplary models for regional development, we look forward to the vital role these officers will play in appropriately adapting and promoting these values worldwide.

The Saemaul Undong Center (President GwangLim KIM) conducted an invitational Saemaul Undong Training for 21 Tajikistani government officials and village leaders from November 17 to 26.

The training was designed to enhance participants’ understanding of the Saemaul Undong and to support the localization of pilot village projects in Tajikistan.

During the training, participants strengthened their capacity to implement Saemaul Undong through lectures on success factors, case studies, action plan development, and field visits.

At the closing ceremony held on the 26th, Secretary General Sung-ho Kim expressed his hope that the program would contribute to sustainable village development in Tajikistan.

The Saemaul Undong Center (President GwangLim KIM) is conducting the 2025 Saemaul Undong Training for invited participants from Tajikistan from November 17 to 26.

This training aims to enhance the understanding of the Saemaul Undong among local government officials and village leaders, while supporting the localization of pilot projects in Tajikistan.

A total of 21 Tajikistani government officials and village leaders attended the opening ceremony.

Throughout the training, participants will strengthen their capacity to implement Saemaul Undong through lectures on success factors, case studies, action plan development, and field visits.

On October 1st, Korea Saemaul Undong Center (President GwangLim Kim) held the Closing Ceremony for the 2025 Mongolia Saemaul Undong Training at its Center in Seongnam.

12 Mongolian members and officials participated in the training program from September 29 to October 1, where they studied the key success factors and case studies of Saemaul Undong movement. The program included group discussions, action plan development, and a visit to the Saemaul History Museum to explore strategies for local adaptation.

Since 1973, the Korea Saemaul Undong Center has provided training to more than 67,000 people from 150 countries. This year alone, over 500 participants from 45 countries have been invited to join the ongoing training programs.

On Monday, September 29th, Korea Saemaul Undong Center (President GwangLim KIM) held the opening ceremony for the Mongolia Saemaul Undong training program at its Center in Bundang‑gu, Seongnam City.

This training was organized at the request of the Ulaanbaatar Saemaul Undong Community in Mongolia, aiming to localize the Saemaul Undong and enhance the leadership capabilities of participants. Twelve attendees—attended Mongolian Saemaul members and officials from public enterprises—participated.

From September 29 to October 1, trainees will participate in lectures on the principles of the Saemaul Undong, tours of the Saemaul History Museum, group discussions, and drafting of action plans, in order to explore sustainable localization strategies for the Saemaul Undong.

President GwangLim KIM​ of Korea Saemaul Undong Center held a series of meetings with high-level officials from various countries from September 17 to 18 (Wednesday to Thursday), discussing ways to strengthen global cooperation based on the principles of Saemaul Undong.

These discussions were held in conjunction with Global Saemaul Ministerial Meeting (GSMM)​ and Global Saemaul Leadership Forum (GSLF)​ 2025, which took place from September 16 to 19 at Lahan Select Hotel in Gyeongju.

The Center plans to continue advancing the global expansion of Saemaul Undong by seeking practical cooperation models aligned with each country’s regional development policies, contributing to shared prosperity around the world.

On Wednesday, September 17, Korea Saemaul Undong Center (President: GwangLim KIM​) hosted Global Saemaul Ministerial Meeting​ and Global Saemaul Leadership Forum​ 2025 ​at Lahan Select Hotel in Gyeongju.

Now in its 12th year, Global Saemaul Leadership Forum was held under the theme “Together Saemaul, Toward the Future and the World.” The event welcomed over 500 participants, including ministers, vice-ministers, directors, and ambassadors to Korea from 46 countries, to share the values and achievements of Saemaul Undong.

The Forum provided a meaningful opportunity to recognize overseas Saemaul leaders and stakeholders who have led the expansion of the movement worldwide, exchange best practices, and discuss national and regional development policies.

Following the forum, Global Saemaul Ministerial Meeting was held. Participants share updates on model pilot village and self-supported expansion efforts in participating countries, and to explore strategies for local adaptation in non-partner nations.

On Monday, September 15, Saemaul Undong Center hosted the 2025 Saemaul Undong Global League (SGL) General Assembly, attended by delegations from 30 countries around the world.

Key agenda items discussed during the assembly included reports on project performance and plans, approval of new member countries, and the election of board member countries.

Notably, five new countries – Central African Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria, and Uzbekistan – officially joined the League, expanding the total number of member countries to 51.

Additionally, Global Saemaul Undong Child Sponsorship Ceremony was held, reaffirming the League’s commitment to supporting the safe development of children in member countries and fostering future leaders.

On Wednesday, August 27, Korea Saemaul Undong Center held the closing ceremony for the Kyrgyzstan invitational training with 21 participants, including Saemaul leaders and government officials.

During the program, the trainees studied a variety of subjects such as the key success factors and strategies of Saemaul Undong, income-generating projects, and the establishment of village funds.

They also enhanced their capabilities as Saemaul leaders through field visits and group discussions.

On Tuesday, August 19, Korea Saemaul Undong Center held the opening ceremony for the 2025 Kyrgyzstan Saemaul Undong Training Program.

A total of 21 leaders and government officials are participating in this 9-day program, during which they will strengthen their capacities by learning about the history and success cases of Saemaul Undong as well as through field visits.

In particular, the curriculum includes customized courses tailored to the needs of pilot villages, such as income generation, village fund creation, and vegetable cultivation techniques.

Chairman GwangLim KIM emphasized, “Just as Korea achieved remarkable development through the spirit of diligence, self-help, and cooperation, we will actively support the successful settlement of Saemaul Undong in Kyrgyzstan.”
