VFW Post 10223 has been faithfully serving veterans & our community and supporting the troops, dependents, and retirees of UASG Humphreys for over 20 years. Now, with the USFK relocation from Yongsan & the Greater Seoul Metropolitan Area and areas north of Seoul, Camp Humphreys is set to become the U.S. To support the needs of our expanding community, we strive to grow with it. Remarks from the Commander, Department of Pacific Areas

POW/MIA Recognition Day

Comrades of the Pacific,

Tomorrow, we pause as one body to honor a sacred promise — that we will never forget our Prisoners of War and those who remain Missing in Action. This day is not simply a date on the calendar. It is a solemn reminder that our duty to our brothers and sisters does not end when the battle is over, nor when the war is declared complete.

Across the Pacific and around the world, empty chairs at our tables and the black and white POW/MIA flag serve as silent witnesses to the sacrifice of those who never returned home. We owe them not only remembrance but also our continued commitment to account for them, to speak their names, and to ensure that their families know they are never forgotten.

As veterans, we understand the weight of service and the price of freedom. It is our responsibility — through our posts, through our programs, and through our daily actions — to live up to the promise: You are not forgotten.

Let us renew our dedication to those who cannot stand with us, and let us stand with the families who continue to wait with courage and hope. May this day strengthen our resolve, and may our comrades still unaccounted for know, wherever they may rest, that we will never abandon them.

TEAMWORK — Together Everyone Achieves More. Together, we ensure their memory and their sacrifice endures.

Thank you, comrades, and may we always remain faithful to this solemn vow.
