On May 16, 2025, student researchers affiliated with the Center for Security Policy Studies–Korea (CSPS-Korea) participated in the 2025 IGC Research Showcase, presenting work under the guidance of Dr. Moon Joon Kim, Acting Director of CSPS-Korea, and Dr. Boyoung Kim, Research Faculty of CSPS-Korea.
Dr. Moon Joon Kim delivered a faculty presentation titled “Estimating the Impact of PM2.5 on Solar Power with Machine Learning: Evidence from South Korea,” offering a timely exploration of the intersection between environmental data science and energy policy.
Research Assistant Hayoung Yun presented an in-depth analysis on the manifestation of geopolitical bias in large language models. Student Fellows Minji Kim, Hyeonmin Kwon, and Samuel Sims delivered research on media trust among Generation Z in South Korea, comparative frameworks for sustainable urban development, and international approaches to artificial intelligence governance and innovation, respectively. Junior Fellow Seungeun Choi contributed a study examining the role of AI in shaping environmentally responsive policy, in alignment with the showcase’s overarching theme of artificial intelligence.
The event served to reaffirm CSPS-Korea’s dedication to fostering interdisciplinary scholarship across the domains of security, technology, and policy.
