의무소방대 화우회 사람들은 숭고한 소방정신을 기억하며 세상에 긍정적 영향력을 미치는 데에 관심이 있습니다. 자기와 같은 생각을 가지고 있는 화우와 이야기하고, 친해지기를 원합니다. 화우회원들은 서로의 꿈을 응원하며 힘을 합해 그 꿈을 이루어나갑니다. 화우회는 이러한 다양한 분야에 있는 의무소방원 출신분들이 서로간의 존재를 인식하고 서로 도울 수 있는 사람 중심의 커뮤니티를 만들고자합니다.
But after passing a writing , physical test, interview, one can finish his military service in fire services, which is called 'Conscripted Firefighters Agency'. In 2001 march, a fire at a two-story residential house in Hongje-dong in western Seoul killed six firefighters and seriously injured three others, which caused a huge public concern about the welfare of firefighter, expecially about lack of manpower shortage. ACT ON THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE KOREA CONSCRIPTED FIREFIGHTERS AGENCY was proclaimed 14, August, 2001 in an effort to supplement auxiliary firefighters. After a basic military training for one month, candidates for CF enter National Fire Service Academy and receive another one month training, usually harsh and strict. In NFSA, they live together, learning practical knowledge about firefighting through various media including theoretical courses, required practical skill courses, major courses, fire suppression, general rescue, mountain climbing, lifesaving, and first-aid training. Through all this, the CF are developed into brave firefighters who are nearest to the scene when citizens are in need. Upon completion of the training and education period, these CF candidates are promoted to fire private(이방) and dispersed to local fire stations. CFAs in local fire station are run in military way under regulations with instructions of fire official in the charge. Because entrance exam for CFA requires a certain level of knowledge of high school subjects(history, common fire science, korean), more than a half of CF are from prestigious universities(SNU, Korea Univ, Yonsei Univ). CF veterans are starting to make a outstanding and noticeable achivements in every fields and the society pays special attention to them
2001년 8월 14일 제정, 공포된 '의무소방대설치법'을 근거로 하는 의무소방대 및 의무소방원은 2001년 3월 4일 서울특별시 홍제동 주택화재 및 3월 7일 부산광역시 연산동 빌딩화재로 7명의 소방공무원이 순직하고 5명이 부상하는 사고를 계기로 설치되었다. 첫해 당시 500여명을 모집하였다. 현행 의무소방원은 2006년 9월 22일 개정된 의무소방대설치법과 2006년 6월 30일 개정된 '의무소방대설치법 시행령'에 의해 선발 및 운영되고 있다.
