As many participants will be travelling across continents and time zones to join us, we organised a Pre-Event Training Camp on 17–18 October to help you arrive, settle in and prepare comfortably before the Festival officially begins. It is a chance to:

"Table tennis has always pulled me out of sadness."

Carla Cadena, one of the dedicated World Table Tennis Day Promoters, has held a racket since she was a child. When her father passed away, she looked for a way to turn that loss into something that could hold other people up.

She found it at the Fasec Foundation in Cuenca, Ecuador, a place caring for people in the final stage of their lives, and for the families and staff who walk beside them. Carla built her World Table Tennis Day 2026 event there around one idea: Caring for the Caregiver.

A donated table. Recreational games. Talks that moved a whole room. And a curious boy who kept asking whether the table would stay.

"This is for you, Mom. For your strength, day after day, with my dad," said Carla, with the story of her powerful family always backing her.

World Table Tennis Day 2026 Main Event After-Movie is Out! 🎬

On 23 April, the WTTD 2026 Main Event came alive in the Kapadwanj community in India, bringing together 400+ individuals to the home of our TT4Change project "Smash Barriers" and our project partner Kapadwanj Kelavani Mandal (KKM).

Cultural performances, community exhibitions, showcase matches and Spinsight ESN Digital's interactive stations filled the day. Joining the community around ONE table were ITTF and ITTF Foundation President Petra Sörling, ITTF Foundation Governing Board member Vita Dani, Indian icon and ITTF Foundation Ambassador Achanta Sharath Kamal, table tennis legend Peter Karlsson, and table tennis influencer Adam Bobrow. The joy, inclusivity and togetherness were palpable.

Today, we are overjoyed to release the after-movie of the WTTD 2026 Main Event.

It not only captures the lively atmosphere of the celebration, but also tells the vivid stories of World Table Tennis Day up to today, and presents the voices of community participants, project leaders, WTTD Promoters, and everyone who made the event so meaningful.

Parkinson's Scottish International Open 2026, recognised by the ITTF Foundation, will be held in Largs 🏓

On 15–16 August, 104 players from 10 countries will compete in Largs, Scotland, in a tournament that did not exist three years ago.

The Parkinson's Scottish International Open was created in 2023, when a UK event was cancelled and Brian Carson and Terry McLernon MBE relocated it north of the border. Today it is co-organised by the Parkinson's Scottish Table Tennis Association (Brian, Terry & Linda) and Table Tennis Scotland, and has grown from 46 players in its first edition to a sought-after event.

As the event has adopted the frameworks and standards we’ve been promoting to develop consistency, fairness, and player-centred competition conditions, we are pleased to label it a "Recognised by the ITTF Foundation" event.

This means the tournament aligns with internationally established standards: Parkinson’s and Alzheimer's specific rules, Parkinson’s classification guidelines, and the frameworks of the World Parkinson's and World Alzheimer's Table Tennis Championships.

Through each recognised event, we continue to build a structured and supportive ecosystem for Parkinson's and Alzheimer's table tennis, and for TT4Health programmes worldwide.
