부산시립무용단은 1973년 전국 최초의 시립무용단으로 창단되어 현재 이정윤 예술감독을 중심으로 50명의 단원이 활동하고 있으며 한국의 전통춤을 계승하는 한편 현대적 감각에 맞게 창작한 수준 높은 작품으로 부산은 물론 한국 무용계를 주도하고 있다.
