On May 12, 2026, the Sitara Association, in partnership with the Student Association of the School of Medicine and Public Health (EMSP), and with the support of several institutional and health partners, commemorated International Nurses Day in Moroni under the theme:

The event recognized, reflected on, and engaged people about the vital role nurses play in strengthening the healthcare system in the Comoros.
The day began with a scientific conference titled: โ๐๐ก๐ ๐๐จ๐ฐ๐๐ซ ๐จ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฌ๐๐ฌ ๐ข๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐จ๐ซ๐จ๐ฌ: ๐๐ก๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ฌ, ๐๐ฉ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐๐ฌ, ๐๐ง๐ ๐
๐ฎ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ ๐๐๐ซ๐ฌ๐ฉ๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐๐ฌ,โ presented by Mr. Ameldine Dachiroudine, Community Health Promotion Specialist and President of the Sitara Association.
The conference provided an opportunity to discuss the realities of the nursing profession in the Comoros, the challenges healthcare professionals face in their daily work, and the opportunities to further strengthen nursing leadership and the national health system.
The celebration continued with educational activities, a health knowledge competition, student-led health-awareness skits, and cultural performances, all in a dynamic and engaging atmosphere.
The official ceremony was honored by the presence of several distinguished authorities and partners, including ๐๐ซ. ๐๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐จ๐ข ๐๐ฅ๐ข ๐๐๐๐ข๐๐จ๐ฎ, Rector of the University of the Comoros; ๐๐ซ. ๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐จ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ฒ ๐๐๐จ๐ฎ๐๐จ๐ฎ, Director of El-Maarouf National Hospital Center (CHN El-Maarouf); ๐๐ซ. ๐๐๐ฆ๐๐ฅ ๐๐ก๐๐ฆ๐๐๐, Director of the School of Medicine and Public Health, and ๐๐ซ. ๐๐๐ง ๐๐ก๐๐ซ๐๐๐๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐๐ก๐ข, Communications Officer, representing WHO Comoros on this occasion.
Through this initiative, we reaffirm our commitment to promoting the nursing profession, strengthening healthcare leadership, and contributing to a stronger and more resilient health system in the Comoros.
