This year's theme, "From Policy to Practice: Powering
Maritime Excellence," is a reminder that safety at sea isn't just written in the rulebook; it's built through training and readiness.

Our crew puts that into practice every day through
watchkeeper training and drills, upholding the standards that keep everyone on board safe.

Doulos Hope Captain Eymard Calibjo (Philippines) said, “Having a drill regularly is very important for the safety of everybody. We are so thankful because the crew and the staff are so cooperative.”

“Training can build confidence, and if you have confidence, you can perform your duties and responsibilities well,” Third Officer John Aclub (Philippines) shared.

To every seafarer, trainer and crewmember out there doing the essential work that keeps the world's ships moving: today, we celebrate you. Thank you for what you do!

Dili, you welcomed us like family from the very first day!

We want to thank all of you for making this time in Timor-Leste possible. Over the past days, 23,101 visitors stepped on board, 33 onshore teams went out into the community, we hosted 9 onboard events together, and 20 new volunteers joined!

We're deeply encouraged and grateful to partner with so many like-minded people in sharing knowledge, help, and hope!

Meet our galley and bakery team!

❓ How many meals do they prepare a day?
Three meals a day, every single day — that is around 300 servings per meal!

❓ Where does the food come from?
Fresh ingredients are sourced locally at every port we visit. 🌍

❓ Did you know we have a bakery on board?
Fresh bread is baked daily — and every Friday, the team treats the crew to dessert, like brownies! 🍞🍫

The whole ship — from common areas to shared toilets, they keep it all clean.

❓ What does a typical day looklike for them?
Vacuuming, cleaning and doing laundry — sheets, towels and uniforms included!

❓ How many hours a day does the housekeeping team work?
8 hours a day in the morning — hard work behind the scenes! 💪
