🇦🇺 Pheap and Wendy are now safely back in Cambodia after an incredible few weeks across Australia filled with fundraisers, Rotary presentations, learning opportunities, and plenty of unforgettable moments.

After travelling through Sydney, Wagga Wagga, and Melbourne, and along the Great Ocean Road (see prior posts for details), the trip continued to Murray Bridge in South Australia, where we held a Music Bingo fundraiser that raised over $5000 for Heartprint.

In Adelaide, we toured Livit Disability Services, visiting independent living homes, respite facilities, and day programs to learn more about inclusive support and ideas we can bring back to Heartprint. We also spent time with the local Cambodian community at a pagoda where, in one incredibly touching moment, members of the Khmer community donated over $700 to support Heartprint families.

From there it was on to Maitland, where East Maitland Rotary held a fantastic fundraiser raising enough to build a family home in Cambodia 🏠 While there we swam with sharks and manta rays thanks to our generous hosts Sue and Brian and we helped with the local can drive that by recycling cans and bottles the club raises funds Heartprint every year.

We then flew into Brisbane before continuing on to Rotary presentations in Logan and on the Gold Coast, as well as attending the annual Vapiano Charity Lunch, which raised over $9500.

The trip ended with some very special family time - days spent with Wendy’s children and grandchildren, visits to iconic beaches, Dreamworld (where Pheap bravely went on her very first rollercoaster 🎢), and a trip up the Q1.

What a whirlwind trip it has been. We are so incredibly grateful to everyone who hosted us, supported us, donated, volunteered, and helped spread the story of Heartprint. Your kindness and generosity will stay with us for a very long time 💛

✨🎓Heartprint University Story | Meet Ley ✨🎓

Ley has been with Heartprint since the early days, and we’ve watched her grow into an inspiring young leader 💛

As one of the pioneers of our B**g Srey program (now the Youth Mentor Program), Ley has always shown strong leadership and a deep desire to succeed. She has not only been a mentor to younger Heartprint children, but also someone with a natural artistic talent.

When she was given the opportunity to attend art classes with the Youth Group, she truly excelled. From that moment, she discovered her passion and began to dream of a future career where she could use her creative skills.

Ley was also our first student to make the brave move to Phnom Penh, choosing to pursue her dreams despite the challenges of being away from family and friends.

Now in her second year of university, studying interior architecture, Ley is fully in her element and continuing to grow into the future she has worked so hard for.

If you’d like to support students like Ley, you can be part of our Match It May Campaign, helping us continue to provide life-changing education opportunities. We’ll pop the link in the comments 💛

These past two weeks have been filled with hope, learning, and new beginnings ❤️

🏡 House 143 is officially underway! Thanks to the generosity of Jason Sullivan. Mum, dad, and their eight children will soon have a safe, secure, and dry place to call home. Just as the wet season begins. Seeing the family work alongside our build crew reminds us how life-changing a home can truly be.

👶 We also shared a baby basket with a young mum welcoming her first baby. She came to our centre asking for support, and we were happy to make her journey into motherhood a little easier.

❤️ Through our family profiles, we heard stories of struggle, hardship, and incredible perseverance. We know that if given the opportunity to improve their lives, these families will take it. Our outreach staff will continue working closely with them to see how we can best support them moving forward — whether through housing, helping keep children in school, or supporting parents with new skills and opportunities.

🌟 Our kids also visited Paul Dubrule Discovery Day, where they were introduced to different skills and courses that can lead to future career pathways. With support from our guidance counselor, they will now have the opportunity to explore these future possibilities even further.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support Heartprint and help us make a difference in our community. Together, we are building hope and creating brighter futures every day 💛

House 143 Is Underway! 🏡✨

We’re excited to share that House 143 is officially under construction! Our dedicated Heartprint Build Crew is once again working hard to provide a safe and secure home for another family in need. ❤️

This home is proudly sponsored by Jason Sullivan, whose generosity and support are making a lasting difference in the lives of this family. Because of this kindness, they will soon have a place they can call home — a space filled with safety, comfort, and hope for the future.

The family is deeply grateful and has been actively helping alongside the team during the building process. Their joy and excitement continue to remind us how meaningful these homes truly are and how much impact a safe home can have on a family’s future.

At Heartprint, every house we build represents more than shelter. It represents opportunity, dignity, stability, and a fresh start for families in our community.

Thank you to Jason Sullivan and to everyone who continues to support Heartprint and believe in our mission. Together, we are building hope, one home at a time. 🏠💛

It’s always special to revisit families and hear how their lives have changed after receiving a new home.

Recently, I had the chance to sit down with one family and listen to their story. Before, their house had many leaks in the walls and roof, and when it rained, water would come inside. They often had to move around inside the house just to stay dry and safe. Life was not easy, especially during heavy rain.

Now, everything feels different for them. Their home is more secure, and they no longer worry when it rains. They shared that they feel safe, comfortable, and more settled, and their family’s daily life has improved a lot.

Hearing their experience is a powerful reminder that even the simplest changes — like a dry floor, a strong roof, and a safe space to live — can make a huge difference in a family’s life.🏠💛

🇦🇺 Pheap and Wendy’s Australian adventures continue!

From Melbourne to Wellington, it’s been a whirlwind of meetings, experiences, and incredible generosity as we continue spreading the word about Heartprint and connecting with the people who help make it all possible.

Here’s a little of what we’ve been up to so far.

☕ A beautiful Mother’s Day High Tea fundraiser hosted by Rotary Peninsula 2.0, which looks to have raised an incredible AU$12,000 for Heartprint! We are beyond grateful for the love and support shown on the day.

🥞 An early morning, helping serve breakfast to the homeless at the local Brekkie Club in Frankston. A reminder that community support looks the same no matter where you are in the world.

💛 A visit to Bloom Disability Café to learn more about inclusive employment and how we can continue improving disability support opportunities through the Heartprint Hub.

🎓 A trip to Monash University to discuss future education and training opportunities for our staff.

🛝 Catching up with Mt Martha Rotary Club and checking in on future playground donations; seeing where they are stored and maintained before making the big journey to Cambodia.

🦘 Plenty of Australian wildlife encounters, including patting kangaroos and koalas at Moonlit Sanctuary… and then seeing kangaroos, koalas and kookaburras out in the wild too!

🚁 And Pheap’s personal highlight? A helicopter ride over the spectacular 12 Apostles after travelling the breathtaking Great Ocean Road. Safe to say that’s an experience she’ll never forget!

We’ve now made our way to South Australia… and there’s still plenty more to come. Stay tuned!

Healthy smiles start with healthy habits 🪥✨

At our Heartprint Community, the kids always brush their teeth after they eat, helping them build healthy habits every day 💛

Through simple daily routines, the children are learning why taking care of their teeth is so important. Brushing after meals helps keep their teeth strong and clean, prevents tooth pain, and teaches them the importance of personal hygiene and self-care.

These small habits may seem simple, but they can make a big difference in a child’s health, confidence, and future. We are so proud to see the children caring for themselves and encouraging one another to keep their smiles bright and healthy 😊

Every healthy smile is a step toward a healthier and happier future 🌟

Over the past two weeks, our programs and initiatives have continued to create meaningful impact across the community 💛✨

Students have been actively participating in Creative Arts 🎨, Fashion Design 👗, STEM 🔬, and Sustainable Farming 🌱 activities, building both practical skills and confidence for the future.

Wendy and Allison also completed Australia Volunteering Program (AVP) training in Phnom Penh.

Meanwhile, Pheap and Wendy travelled to Australia 🇦🇺 to connect with sponsors, volunteers, and board members who continue to support Heartprint’s work in Cambodia. During their visit, they attended Rotary meetings, sponsor catch-ups, and fundraising events, sharing stories, strengthening connections, and raising awareness of our programs and the Match It May Campaign 💛🤝

Alongside our education programs, we supported community wellbeing through dental check-ups 🦷, distributed 4 bicycles 🚲 sponsored by Lynn Koh to assist with transportation, and provided 1 baby basket 👶 to support a local family in need.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support and contribute to these positive outcomes within our community ✨
