Our School Center Area
Today is 26 September 2026

This year, we have received much more rain than last year. The water level in the lake behind our school center continues to rise, and some areas around the center are now flooded.

For the safety of our students, we would like to ask them to stay home for a few days until the water level goes down.

When the situation improves and it is safe to travel, our students will return to the center and continue their lessons again.

The safety of our children is our highest priority.

Please stay safe, everyone!

We are so excited to see our students learning, creating, and sharing their dreams!

In this classroom activity, students drew their school, homes, roads, shops, playgrounds, and surrounding community. They then stood in front of the class to present their ideas, some using a microphone and others pointing to different parts of their drawings.

Through this activity, our students are developing their speaking, presentation, creativity, teamwork, and confidence.

At Roots Community, we believe every child has a dream. Together, we are helping them build the skills and courage to make those dreams come true.

With hope, education, and community support, a brighter future is possible!

Small Activities for a Greener School
Our students and volunteers are working together to plant flowers and create a greener, more beautiful school environment.

Every Saturday, we collect rubbish, remove plastic waste, clean the school grounds, and plant more flowers. Small actions can make a big difference for our school, community, and environment.
We help each other for our Roots community!

Our young students have scheduled computer lessons with their teacher. They are every excited to improve their computer skills and learn English together. Their enthusiasm makes every lesson special!

Together, we are building a safer, stronger, and brighter future for our children..! and thank you Matt for sharing ..!

Yesterday, 1 July 2026, the students from Ivanhoe Grammar School had the opportunity to stop by a local watermelon farm to learn how our farmers grow and harvest watermelons. Each student harvested a watermelon or two and brought it back to our Roots Center.

To celebrate the final days of their volunteer program, we invited our local village leaders and Buddhist nuns to join our students, teachers, and our Australian friends.

Together, we shared a traditional Khmer blessing ceremony, talked about why we are committed to supporting rural children, and exchanged stories and experiences. We ended the day by playing games, laughing, and creating wonderful memories together.

It was a meaningful day that brought our communities closer together.
