Education breaks the poverty cycle
Volunteer Building Cambodia Community Centre (VBCCC) focuses on education in a rural village where there are few opportunities to gain skills.

Once we changed our computer class schedule, our aim this year is not only to provide computer classes for Level 3 and Level 4 students, but also to open the door for students in Level 1 and Level 2.

By adding computer classes into their learning schedule, we hope to see students enjoy their first exploration and adaptation to technology, helping them build confidence and essential digital skills for the future.

We were delighted to welcome a very special (OT/Physio Group) from Australia to the Volunteer Building Cambodia Community Centre (VBCCC): Katrina Chad, Bec Hockey, Rebecca Penfold, and Alicia Walsh.
This visit wasn’t just about the generous donation of new tablets, books, and creative supplies; it was about a shared love for learning.
We can’t wait to see our students dive into their new resources, thanks to our friends from Australia. Serving as a reminder that when we work together, we can provide the tools our students need, to navigate their future.

Is learning a competition?
Learning should not only happen inside the classroom walls, and competition should not only define winners. True competition is about creating smiles, building preparation, developing focus, and encouraging growth. It silently builds trust, friendship, and confidence among learners.
Because education is not only about being the best, but also about becoming better together.

Friday Gardening
At VBCCC, we organize gardening activities twice a month on Fridays. This activity helps our students learn the importance of teamwork, responsibility, and caring for the environment. Together, we make sure the grass is cut, the surroundings are clean, and the plants are healthy and well maintained. Through gardening, students not only create a greener school environment but also develop a sense of pride and care for their community.

In Class Learning,
The focus should be on concentration and understanding. While learning should also include fun and many activities beyond simply sitting in a room, the classroom remains an important place where everyone can focus on explanations, understand structures, and take notes effectively.
The best education happens when learning is balanced with both concentration and creativity.

Did you know that despite huge economic development in recent years, 90% of Cambodia's poor live in rural areas? 🌿

The "Urban vs. Rural Gap" is a major barrier to progress. Families are often trapped in a loop of seasonal, low-paid labor because they lack the basic foundations of health and education. 🏙

VBC's 'why' in 2026 is simple: we provide the essential infrastructure and vocational training that empowers families to break the cycle for good.
By equipping students with skills at our Community Center, we ensure that the next generation isn't left behind by development-- they are leading it. 💡

Learning should not be limited to the walls of a classroom.
It should be fun, engaging, and meaningful; because education is the key that unlocks dreams and turns them into reality.
We believe that every dream is built with joy, love, and smiles. That’s why learning should reflect those same feelings. It should go beyond books and lectures, incorporating activities, creativity, and games that inspire students to explore and grow.
When learning becomes enjoyable, it becomes powerful, and that is when true transformation begins.
