Our Charity Projects
Cambodian Buddhism Association for Vulnerable Children (CBAVC) is an NGO established by a group of Buddhist monks from Wat Polangka in Siem Reap. The organization was founded in 2012 with the aim of improving access to education, community development and health services for the most vulnerable children, women and disabled people in society. It has now become one of the more successful NGO’s by providing over 400 water wells, giving local people clean access to drinking water and has become a huge success.
To make this a reality, local and international staff and volunteers bring their experience of areas such as agronomy, health, social policy, and education to help those affected to reintegrate into the local community and help themselves as well as gather donations for these amazing projects that are providing sustainable life to the local people in need.
CBAVC’s hope is for Cambodia to be a country with a strong and growing economy, whose people benefit from equality, unity, inter-dependence, and hold respect for human rights and democracy. In order to realize this vision, CBAVC commits to alleviating poverty and improving quality of life in rural areas of Cambodia by providing education and community development and community primary healthcare for Cambodian women and children and their families by coordinating with stakeholders at all levels including, civil society groups, government departments, NGOs, and community leaders.
CBAVC, in partnership with the local authorities and other NGOs, will help respond to the needs of these families to help alleviate trauma and vulnerability which are daily threats to their lives and livelihoods. To do this we are encouraging their full participation in efforts to conserve the environment and national heritage, reduce and eliminate domestic violence, child trafficking, poverty and illiteracy in line with the policies of the Royal Government. Our most important task is to increase the opportunity for children from this area to grow up well educated and most importantly with a strong moral mind so that they can build lasting peace and prosperity in our society.
