๐Ÿพ Every Day

Every day Iโ€™m on the road.

Every day I make my rounds, checking on the animals who depend on us.

And every day, I visit my beautiful babies at Animal Mama, where they receive the care, treatment, and love they need to heal.

Some days bring good news, some days bring challenges, but every visit reminds me why we do this.

Thank you to everyone who supports our mission and helps us continue caring for these precious souls.

๐Ÿพ Maisey Mumma Update

Yesterday, sweet Maisey underwent surgery to repair a large hernia and was also desexed.

A hernia occurs when there is a hole in the abdominal wall, allowing organs or tissue to push through. In Maisey's case, the hernia had grown significantly over time and contained both intestines and other abdominal organs, leaving a large pouch hanging from her belly.

Thankfully, the surgery was successful. The veterinary team repaired the defect and carefully returned her organs to their proper place.

Today, Maisey is sore and uncomfortable, which is to be expected after such a major operation. I'll be spending some time with her after feeding rounds to help comfort her and assist the staff with her medications.

Unfortunately, Maisey's journey is far from over. She still requires treatment for TVT, meaning she will need to remain in care for several more weeks.

Her medical bills continue to grow, and we urgently need help to cover the cost of her treatment. If you would like to support Maisey's recovery, please consider making a donation. Donation links can be found in the comments.

Every dollar helps give this beautiful girl the chance she deserves.

๐Ÿพ Kiki Update

Kiki, an owned free-roaming street dog, has safely returned home after her desexing surgery.

To give her the best chance of a smooth recovery, she remained at the clinic for a few days under close observation before being discharged.

A huge thank you to our incredible donor who funds every desexing operation we carry out. Because of your generosity, countless puppies are never born into a life of uncertainty, neglect, and hardship.

Together, we are making a difference for Cambodia's street animals.

๐Ÿพ Mary Update

The last two days have brought a huge improvement in Mary's recovery.

Just four days ago, I was seriously considering taking her back to Animal Mama Siem Reap because I felt she was getting much worse. In fact, I feared we were heading in the wrong direction.

But somehow, over the past 48 hours, things have changed dramatically. Mary is now almost walking normally again and has started eating well too.

We honestly don't know what caused this sudden turnaround, but we are incredibly grateful and hopeful that her recovery will continue in the right direction.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Mary so far.

Please consider donating towards her outstanding medical bill. Donation links can be found in the comments section.

๐Ÿพ PARASITE TREATMENTS

Caring for animals doesn't stop with feeding them. As part of our ongoing commitment to the many dogs and cats we look after throughout Siem Reap, we also provide regular parasite treatments to help keep them healthy.

Parasites can have a devastating impact on an animal's health. Recently, Gus began losing weight and becoming unwell due to a heavy burden of hookworms and roundworms. Left untreated, parasites can be just as dangerousโ€”and sometimes just as deadlyโ€”as many viruses and diseases.

Today, we treated 29 dogs and 2 cats for internal parasites. Tomorrow, we will continue our rounds to ensure even more animals receive the care they need.

Every treatment makes a difference, helping these animals live healthier, happier lives.

๐Ÿพ Surgery Day

Today is a big day for three very special souls. If no emergency cases come through at the busiest clinic in town, all three are scheduled for surgery.

๐Ÿถ Teddy โ€“ desexing
๐Ÿถ Kiki โ€“ desexing
๐Ÿถ Maisey โ€“ hernia removal, desexing

Please keep these precious babies in your thoughts as they undergo anaesthesia and begin their road to recovery. We already know that Teddy doesn't tolerate anaesthesia well, so we're especially hoping for a smooth and uneventful day for him.

Every surgery gives an animal a chance at a healthier, safer life, but we can't do it without your support. Donations towards their veterinary costs would be so greatly appreciated. Please follow the links in the comments if you'd like to help.

Thank you for standing beside us as we continue...

๐Ÿพ Kiki

Beautiful Kiki is a much-loved, owned street dog who enjoys the freedom of roaming her neighbourhood.

When her owner asked if we could help have her desexed, our answer was an easy YES!

Today, Kiki visited Animal Mama Siem Reap for her procedure. Her blood work came back looking good, which was wonderful news. However, the veterinary team discovered a couple of health concerns they would like to monitor closely, so Kiki will remain hospitalised for a few days following her surgery to ensure she receives the care and treatment she needs.

We'll keep you updated on her progress over the coming days.

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible donor who makes every one of our desexing cases possible. Because of your generosity, dogs like Kiki have the chance for a healthier future and fewer unwanted puppies in our community. ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ™
