Piglets for Cambodians

Piglets for Cambodians One piglet can start a cycle of change🐖 Enabling income, education, food security, and true self-determination 🌏

Piglets for Cambodians is a dedicated non-profit organization committed to empowering rural Cambodian families by providing them with the means to achieve sustainable livelihoods and break the cycle of poverty. Recognizing the limited opportunities for economic advancement in these communities, where average monthly wages often fall below US$100, our mission is to offer a pathway to financial inde

pendence through livestock farming. Our Mission:
We believe that a single piglet can transform lives. By gifting female piglets to families in need, accompanied by proper training and resources, we enable them to establish a sustainable source of income. This initiative not only enhances their financial stability but also fosters community development and self-reliance. Our approach is both innovative and self-sustaining:

Piglet Gifting: We provide a female piglet to a selected family, ensuring they have the necessary support to care for and raise the animal. Training and Resources: Families receive comprehensive training in livestock management and, where necessary, assistance in constructing suitable pigsties to ensure the well-being of the piglets. Reinvestment for Community Growth: Once the sow gives birth, the family donates one female piglet back to our organization. This piglet is then gifted to another family, perpetuating the cycle of empowerment and expanding our reach within the community.

🐖 A big ripple effect is underway

In the past month alone, 12 sows across the Piglets for Cambodians program have been successfully impregnated.

That means in the coming months we expect more than 100 piglets to be born into the program.

A gifted piglet represents more than livestock. It represents the start of a cycle — a cycle where families receive a piglet, raise it, breed from it, and then pass the next generation on to another family in their village.

Through this simple but powerful model, those 100 piglets could help bring dozens more families into the program, expanding the circle of opportunity across rural Cambodia.

It’s a reminder that real change often starts quietly — one sow, one litter, one family at a time.

Thank you to everyone supporting Piglets for Cambodians and helping this cycle grow.

Pigenomics is how one pig creates opportunity for many, and at the heart of our sustainable program.

We gift vaccinated female piglets to households in need. As the sow breeds, a family can generate over $3,100 in their first two years - averaging $129 per month and growing. One female piglet from every litter is returned so we can help the next family.
Another helps the next family begin their journey.

It’s a simple, proven cycle that multiplies impact — creating livelihoods, independence, and lasting change across communities. 🌱

This is how small beginnings grow into something much bigger.

🐖🏗 Progress update from our breeding facility!

We’re making great headway on what will become our new super-sized pen structure — a key step in strengthening our breeding program and supporting future growth.

The new facility will also integrate biogas, fertiliser for gardens, and pig-feed production, creating a closed-loop system that maximises resources and sustainability across the program. 🌱

It’s another practical milestone in building a strong, self-sustaining foundation to support more families in the years ahead. More updates coming soon.

💙We need your help today — to keep momentum going💚

Right now, Piglets for Cambodians is growing fast.

We’re welcoming multiple female pigs back into the program from families, others are ready to be donated, and our breeding facility expansion is well underway — laying the groundwork to support many more families in the months ahead. 🐖🌱

This progress means real opportunity:
• more families building sustainable livelihoods
• more food security at village level
• a stronger, self-sustaining program

To continue this expansion, we now need the support of our community. Your donation today helps us take the next step — caring for more pigs, supporting more families, and turning momentum into lasting impact.

If you’ve been considering supporting our work, today is a powerful time to do it.

✨ A powerful update from our program.

Just weeks ago, we shared the story of a widow who was gifted two pigs through Piglets for Cambodians. Today, we’re excited to share that both pigs are thriving and now pregnant with their first litters.

This is P4C multiplication in action — what we call pigenomics.
From two pigs will come new opportunity:
• Increased income and food security for the widow
• Piglets to expand the program
• New families supported in the months ahead

This is how sustainable change grows — quickly, practically, and with dignity.
