We just witnessed the true impact of education: 220 scholarship children, each with a dream, celebrated at the PeopleStories School for Life Annual Ceremony.

These children, hailing from rural villages, are breaking the cycle of poverty—and their potential is limitless.

This week, a team of dedicated leaders left their meeting rooms behind to lay the foundation - literally - for a new school ground in rural Cambodia.

With sweat-drenched hands and unwavering purpose, they moved hundreds of tiles to create a safe space for children to learn and grow.

Our changemakers have landed in Cambodia!

The suitcases are packed... with work gloves and a whole lot of hope! ✈️🛠️

Our amazing team has arrived in Siem Reap, ready for a week of heart, hard work, and transformative change with PeopleStories for .

We were deeply moved by the words of Vuthy Chea, FCCA, our Accelerator Board member from Phnom Penh:

🚀 MDS is back on the road!

The dedicated team of coaches at PeopleStories is excited and ready to launch our Mobile Digital School (MDS) once again for this new academic year!

Building on last year’s achievements, we are ambitiously expanding our outreach to more schools in the Soutr Nikum and Banteay Srey districts. 🌍✨

Our aim is to provide over 20,000 digital learning hours 💻 to more than 1,000 children in rural Cambodia. Through our MDS program, we continue to deliver ICT, English, Critical Thinking, and more directly to rural children using computers and digital technology. 🙌

One of our MS Word course learners from Chea Smon Secondary School expressed: “I really enjoy learning about computers through the PeopleStories Mobile Digital School program because the lessons are both helpful and practical. I hope to secure a good job in the future after completing my studies.”

🧡 One Home Visit at a Time! 🛖

Since 2017, the PeopleStories School for Life scholarship program has positively impacted the lives of children in rural Siem Reap by providing 978 scholarships.

A vital aspect of our work at PeopleStories involves conducting numerous home visits.

Recently, our team has been actively engaged in nearly 100 home visits within the Soutr Nikom district.

These visits provide a valuable opportunity to connect with children and their families, allowing us to better understand their situations.

One parent we encountered during these visits expressed, “Thank you! We are facing very difficult times, and I even considered asking my child to quit school because we simply can’t afford her education. This scholarship will mean so much to my child and our family.”

🤝🏽 Community Outreach Through Home Visits 🛖

Since 2017, the PeopleStories School for Life scholarship program has been making a difference by providing 978 scholarships to children in rural Siem Reap.

Many of our supporters often inquire, “How do we assess and select the right children for the scholarship?”

A crucial step for our team at PeopleStories is conducting numerous home visits. The objectives of our Home Visits include:

👉🏾 Engagement: Offering a meaningful opportunity to connect with the children and their families.
👉🏾 Understanding: Gaining deeper insights into their circumstances.
👉🏾 Fairness: Ensuring a fair selection process for choosing the right children for the scholarship.

Our new colleague, Chantrea, recently completed 10 home visits and shared, “I am thankful for the chance to conduct these home visits. Through them, I can forge deep connections with the children and their families. Witnessing their bright smiles is truly rewarding, as they see us as a beacon of hope for a better future.”

A dedicated group of passionate leaders has united, swapping their laptop bags for toolbelts, and is prepared to make a meaningful impact.

They will be laying both the physical and educational foundations for a brighter future.

Regina Warth, our Accelerator Board Member and an expert in change management, stated, “For five days, our team will be on the ground in Cambodia, literally constructing the future—tile by tile. This effort goes beyond merely building a structure; it’s about creating opportunities.”

Accelerating Growth 🚀

PeopleStories is thrilled to expand our School for Life scholarship program for more children, create more opportunities, and make greater impact.

Since 2017, we have provided 978 scholarships to 978 children in Bakong district. This year, we are expanding our partnership with all high schools in the Soutr Nikom district.

Teacher from a partner school says, “In my humble opinion, the power of PeopleStories scholarship is beyond the bicycle, uniform and school supplies. It is all about the encouragement for the children to achieve great things through education! We are all deeply grateful."

Celebrating PeopleStories' Birthday with a Special Encore 🚲🚲🚲

What better way to wish a “Happy Birthday” to PeopleStories than to revisit our very first project?

On November 6, 2017, PeopleStories gifted 94 bikes 🚲 to 94 children at Phum Ou Primary School, enhancing their mobility and access to education.

Today, a group of enthusiastic supporters and cycling aficionados gathered in Singapore. Together, they enjoyed a ride around the stunning Singapore Bay.

Founder Victoria Miloschewsky reflected on the journey, stating, “At PeopleStories, we began with Bike for Life. Today, we celebrated Ride for Good 🚲 in Singapore, highlighting the significance of improved access to education. Thank you to all our supporters for raising funds to provide more bikes for our children!”

Happy Water Festival 💧✨

The Water Festival signifies the conclusion of the rainy season and the remarkable reversal of the Tonlé Sap’s waters, a phenomenon unlike any other in the world.

For three days and nights, the nation comes together to celebrate bountiful harvests, prosperity, and the strength of water.

One of our scholarship students joyfully shared, “The Water Festival is one of my favorite events of the year! I can’t wait to watch the thrilling dragon boat races and cheer for my village’s team.”

Our team at PeopleStories is honored to support numerous children in rural Cambodia as they embark on a year brimming with learning, achievements, new friendships, and community initiatives aimed at the greater good.
