Temple Garden Foundation TGF works in partnership with local villages in Cambodia to improve livelihoods through sustainable development and the empowerment of communities.

Founded in 2008 Temple Garden Foundation (TGF) works in partnership with local villages in Cambodia to improve livelihoods through sustainable development and the empowerment of communities. It supports projects which maximise community participation and minimise external support in four interconnected areas: children’s education, health, income generation and water and sanitation.

Another library, another school transformed

Today, we officially opened one of our three newly renovated school libraries in 2026, bringing the total to 11 renovated primary school libraries - this time at Kdei Beng Primary School.
It was a great morning of celebration, bringing together monks, students, teachers, parents, the School Support Committee, commune representatives, the District Office of Education and other local partners. Students also performed traditional dances, making the opening a truly special occasion.
But surely, the most important part is what happens after the opening ceremony.
A library is not just a room filled with books. It is a place where children learn new things, play, explore and develop a love of reading. It is a space where teachers can make learning more engaging and where parents can become part of their children's learning journey.
With 11 school libraries now renovated in our target area, we are gradually creating more and more of these spaces for children to learn and enjoy.
A big thank you to the school, teachers, parents, local authorities, our partners and everyone who helped make today's celebration possible.
We hope that this library will become much more than a room with books - a place filled with stories, curiosity, discovery and happy memories for generations of students at Kdei Beng.

ថ្ងៃនេះ យើងបានសម្ពោធដាក់ឱ្យប្រើប្រាស់ជាផ្លូវការនូវបណ្ណាល័យសាលារៀនដែលទើបជួសជុលនិងទំនើបកម្មថ្មីមួយ ក្នុងចំណោមបណ្ណាល័យទាំងបីក្នុងឆ្នាំ២០២៦ ដែលធ្វើឱ្យចំនួនបណ្ណាល័យសាលាបឋមសិក្សាដែលបានជួសជុល និងទំនើបកម្មរួចរាល់សរុបកើនឡើងដល់ ១១ បណ្ណាល័យ ហើយលើកនេះគឺនៅសាលាបឋមសិក្សាក្តីបេង។

ប៉ុន្តែជាការពិតណាស់ ផ្នែកដែលសំខាន់បំផុតនោះគឺអ្វីដែលនឹងកើតឡើងបន្ទាប់ពីពិធីសម្ពោធនេះ។

Today we had a productive meeting with a representative of the Siem Reap Provincial Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries to discuss the next steps of our rice program and our planned 10-ton rice milling pilot.
We greatly appreciate the Department’s guidance and support, including advice on suitable rice millers, expected milling results and prices, local markets and potential market connections.
We also discussed upcoming pre-harvest training for our farmers, focusing on the right timing for harvesting, proper harvesting methods, moisture control and good storage practices to help protect rice quality and value.

Thank you to PDAFF for taking the time to meet with us and for supporting our work with farmers. We look forward to continuing this cooperation.

A great team communicates well.

One of the foundations of TGF's impact is effective communication - within our team and with the communities, beneficiaries, and partners we work alongside. To continue strengthening these skills, the TGF team participated in a communication training workshop facilitated by Laurent and Saifong from Spira Consulting.
Throughout the day, our staff explored topics such as active listening, constructive feedback, teamwork, and open communication through interactive discussions and practical group activities. The workshop provided an opportunity to reflect on how we communicate with one another and how stronger communication can help us work even more effectively as a team.

Earlier this year, during UWCSEA Grade 5's Service Week in Cambodia, students from Singapore and Tapor Primary School spent two memorable days learning, playing, and working together.
The activities were designed around TGF's ongoing programs and included school gardening, library activities, and sports. This allowed the visiting students to experience how these activities support children's learning and development while creating opportunities for Cambodian and Singaporean students to learn from one another.
Although the visit ended in March, the connection continued.
After returning to Singapore, the UWCSEA students wrote personal letters to their buddies at Tapor Primary School, sharing their favorite memories from the visit and telling them about life back home.
Last week, those letters were delivered to the students at Tapor. Seeing the excitement as each child received a letter from their buddy was a wonderful reminder that meaningful connections can continue despite different backgrounds, cultures, and languages.
The Service Week was not only an opportunity for cultural exchange, but also helped strengthen TGF's education activities by encouraging reading, teamwork, and creativity.
A sincere thank you to the students, teachers, parents, and the entire UWCSEA community. Through the Grade 5 Global Concerns program, together with the fundraising efforts of students, teachers, families, and friends throughout the school year, UWCSEA continues to support TGF's work and helps create better opportunities for children and communities in rural Cambodia. This week, TGF supported a training delivered by a TTO trainer on literacy and numeracy learning materials for 46 teachers, librarians, and school directors from our target schools.
The training focused on using the educational games and learning resources recently introduced in our newly renovated libraries. These interactive materials help children develop literacy and numeracy skills through play, making learning more engaging and enjoyable.
Participants also explored how these games can be used during parent meetings to encourage families to become more involved in their children's learning.
By strengthening the skills of teachers and librarians, we aim to ensure that our libraries become active learning spaces where children can read, play, and learn together.
