Access to safe drinking water is essential for quality healthcare. Yet many health centers in Cambodia still rely on contaminated well water and bottled water for drinking.

Water for Cambodia continues to install water filtration systems at health centers, providing up to 1,000 liters of clean water per hour for patients, staff, and surrounding communities.

To date, we have installed systems at 12 health centers: 8 in Siem Reap and 4 in Preah Vihear.

This ongoing work is made possible through the strong support of our Board, together with our valued partners and donors.

Over the last 5 intense and productive days at our office, our team wrapped up a comprehensive mWater training!

Massive thanks to our partner Just a Drop for bringing in expert trainers Ellen and Daniele, and to Eve and Amy for their continuous support in our data collection journey.

Equipped with these new skills, our data management is stronger than ever!

We are proud to welcome Chhorvy Chhean to the Rikreay Lab family! 🎉🔬

Chhorvy is a brilliant Chemical Engineering graduate who earned a prestigious 5-year full scholarship from the Child Dream Organization. After impressing our team during a rigorous two-month internship with her quick learning and dedication, we hired her full-time right after her graduation in mid-July!

To support her journey, we’re also investing in her future with a 1-year English scholarship at ACE. We are so excited to see the impact she will make as we take our lab to the next level together. Welcome aboard, Chhorvy! 🚀

If we’ve been a bit silent on social media lately, it’s only because our team has been completely focused on the ground.

As you can see in these photos, clean water and safe sanitation don't take days off—and neither do we! Every day away from the screen is a day spent making a real, tangible difference for families in Cambodia.

Clean water is officially flowing at Chub Tatrav Health Center!

Thanks to the incredible support of our partner, Just a Drop, we have successfully completed the first step: drilling a high-yield well that provides a stable flow of 3000L/h, ending dry-season water shortages for good!

What’s next? This is just the beginning. Our next step is to install a filtration system to ensure this water is completely safe for drinking and all clinical uses.

We are proud to share that WFC has installed more than 800 Biosand Filters so far this year, bringing safe drinking water to hundreds of families.

This month, we plan to install over 150 additional units as we continue working toward our goal of 2,000 filters by the end of 2026.

🌧️ Rainy Season is Here — And So Are We.

Our US Board donated 1,000 big size pallets and 200 large tents, now delivered to refugee families in Kralanh District. Because Water for Cambodia is more than water filters — we show up.

We are deeply grateful to Etiqa for their generous donation of 5 large water filters—2 supporting schools and 3 serving health centers.

This meaningful contribution will create a lasting impact by improving access to safe drinking water for our community. With an estimated reach of around 5,000 people each month, these filters will help protect health, support students’ learning, and strengthen essential healthcare services.

Importantly, these filters are also accessible to nearby community members, who can come to collect safe drinking water—extending the benefit beyond the institutions to families in the surrounding areas.

We believe clean water and a clean environment go hand in hand. With SIF, we’re going beyond BSF installations by adding waste management education and tree planting to school programs, empowering students to protect their surroundings.

This initiative is more than training—it’s a learning exchange where Singaporean and Cambodian students share ideas, plant trees, and take action for greener communities.

By combining safe water, waste education, and tree planting, we’re building healthier schools and a sustainable future for Cambodia.
