LHA is a non-profitable, non-governmental and non-political organization. It was established in 2005 Bringing HOPE into LIFE through EDUCATION!!!

Life and Hope Association (LHA) is a non-profit, non-governmental and an education-focused organization. It was established in 2005 and run by monks of Wat Damnak in Siem Reap, Cambodia. We are committed to breaking the cycle of poverty by providing compassionate care and access to education to the poorest and most vulnerable in Cambodia - especially children and disadvantaged young women. We believe that at the root of all suffering is ignorance, and that loving care and a good education can provide a way out of poverty. Reflecting this philosophy, at the core of all LHA's programs is a commitment to compassionate care and continuing education. Through six projects, we send many hundred children and young adults to school from primary to high school levels and beyond. We bring HOPE to the lives of hundreds of young women, and families. We hope you will develop a better sense of these programs in our website. You will see how LHA is changing the lives of some of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged populations in Cambodia. We have a further hope that by developing this understanding, we will engage your interest and perhaps your commitment to offer help and support.

A Half-Day Training on “How to Start a Small Business at Home”

This half-day training was organized to provide sewing students with a basic understanding and practical concepts of how to start and run a small business from home as they approach the end of their training.

Hard and soft skills are closely connected and both are essential for making a business productive and profitable. Hard skills without soft skills are like a machine without fuel. Having technical skills alone may not create a significant impact. However, when hard skills are combined with strong soft skills, soft skills can help us maximize the value of our technical abilities, build strong relationships with others, communicate effectively, and create greater opportunities for success.

We hope that this short training has provided the students with useful knowledge, inspiration, and practical ideas to encourage them to start their own small businesses after graduation.

Heartfelt thanks to Chhen Sonet for your priceless time, energy, and dedication in preparing the training slides and delivering the presentation. Your contribution is greatly appreciated.

Wishing you continued good health, happiness, prosperity, and success in the years ahead!

Thanks,

August Food Support for 19 Families in SCP

This morning, Mr. Lon, the Project Coordinator of SCP, organized a food distribution for 19 families in SCP as part of our August Food Support program. This generous and unwavering support is funded by Rice for Cambodia, based in Australia, led by Mr. Lawrie and Ms. Robyn Leeman, with contributions from many generous people in Australia.

This food support is not simply free food. It is food for education and food for exchange. It means that we provide food to families and children while the families commit to sending their children to school, and the children commit to studying hard with focus, dedication, and determination to build a better future.

This is our social contract for food support: we support families with food, while families and children commit to education and to working toward a brighter future.

Our heartfelt thanks go to Rice for Cambodia and to everyone who continuously contributes, even a single donation, to support this meaningful program. We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to the Rice for Cambodia team, including Chris, John, and everyone else who is always so kind, generous, and supportive.

We deeply appreciate your generosity, kindness, and unwavering support. Your contribution is helping families and children not only meet their basic needs but also create better opportunities through education.

Thanks,
