At Helping Hands Cambodia, no two days are the same! Here is a glimpse of what a school day can look like for our students.
In the morning, a nutritious breakfast is provided to help them stay energized throughout the day. They attend Khmer and English classes, as well as take part in sports activities with our coaches. During free periods, students can learn in different ways through activities like coloring, crafting, or working on worksheets. As the day comes to an end, it is time for our students to head home — most of them by cycling back on their bikes.
If you are interested in being part of any aspect of our school day, please feel free to reach out to us!

Our students love spending their free study time reading storybooks in both Khmer and English, building their language skills and imagination. We’re working to create a more welcoming library space with more books.
We’re grateful to our volunteers who have generously donated books so far, and we’re always looking to expand our collection. If you’d like to contribute to our library and support our students’ learning journey, feel free to reach out!

Our students had a great time discovering the guitar during their class with our intern, Léa. For many, it was their very first experience listening to the instrument and trying a few simple strums. Léa introduced them to different sounds and basic musical concepts, and played a song for them to enjoy and sing along. It was a lively and engaging moment that gave the students the chance to explore something new and different in their learning routine.
We invite musicians who wish to share their passion and inspire young learners to join us for a a session or more!

A little update on our Food and Farming Project,

Recently, we received a generous donation from our volunteer, Robert, to construct a shaded roof over the garden. This shade structure helps protect the plants from intense sunlight and reduces heat stress. It is especially beneficial for our leafy greens, root vegetables, and herbs supporting their growth and overall health.

We are truly grateful to Robert for his generosity and ongoing support of the project.

Meet Sineng!

Sineng began her education at Helping Hands School. She recently graduated with a degree in Management from the University of South-East Asia, having completed her studies with support from Globalteer. Since childhood, she aspired to become a teacher, and today she is fulfilling that dream as a part-time teacher at Helping Hands, where she teaches English to beginner-level students from her community.

She enjoys seeing students collaborate and learn together in groups. Looking ahead, she hopes to take on a leadership role, either as a school principal or in management, to drive meaningful change and broaden the impact of education in her community.

Helping Hands high school students recently engaged in science lessons made possible by initiatives led by returning volunteers, Andrew and Sue. Through these sessions, students explored key scientific theories while actively participating in experiments that allowed them to experience concepts in ways that connect to their everyday lives. Topics such as energy, light, and focal length were brought to the classroom. Beyond gaining knowledge, students also enjoyed fun, creative, and hands-on activities that made the learning experience both meaningful and memorable!

Helping Hands School was grateful to have Liz join us from the U.K. Liz spent a month supporting various classes and activities at the school, helping to co-facilitate engaging lessons with our students. She also brought in a variety of new resources and creative arts and crafts projects that our students thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you, Liz, for your time and efforts at Helping Hands!
