πŸš΄πŸ‡°πŸ‡β€οΈ β€œOne Pedal at a Time for Education” πŸš΄πŸ‡°πŸ‡β€οΈ

For many years, Opening Doors Cambodia has been more than a school to me. It has been a dream, a responsibility, and a promise to hundreds of young Cambodians that education can change the course of their lives.
Today, that promise faces one of its greatest challenges.

Like many organizations around the world, ODC has experienced significant reductions in international funding. This year, we had to reduce our student intake from around 300 students to 200, while many more children remain on the waiting list, hoping for an opportunity to learn.

To raise awareness and support for these students, from 25 July to 5 August 2026, we will cycle over 600 kilometers from Siem Reap to Koh Kong.
This journey is not about setting records or proving strength. It is about demonstrating my commitment to ensuring that Cambodian children continue to have access to quality education.

Every kilometer will represent a child who deserves a chance to learn.
Every pedal will carry hope for a brighter future.

If you believe that every child deserves an education, please support our mission by donating or simply sharing this story with others.

Together, we can keep the doors of education open.

Our Family and Friends 2 students, taught by Teacher Uora, had a fantastic time exploring the exciting science concept of "Float and Sink"!

Through hands on experiments, students made predictions, tested different objects, and discovered why some things float while others sink. This fun and interactive lesson helped develop their critical thinking, observation, and English communication skills.

We are proud of our young learners for their curiosity, participation, and enthusiasm throughout the lesson. Keep exploring, learning, and having fun!

J is for Juice!

Our phonics students had a wonderful time learning about the letter Jj through fun activities, pronunciation practice, and creative art projects. To make learning even more exciting, students created colorful β€œjuice” artwork while practicing words that begin with the letter J.

Hands-on activities like these help young learners build phonics skills, creativity, and confidence while making English learning enjoyable and memorable. Great job, everyone!

Last week, our students celebrated Mother’s Day in a heartfelt way by singing β€œYou Are My Sunshine” to honor the incredible mothers and caregivers in their lives.

Through this simple yet meaningful performance, our students expressed love, gratitude, and appreciation for the women who support, guide, and inspire them every day.

At Opening Doors Cambodia, we believe education is not only about academic growthβ€”it’s also about nurturing kindness, gratitude, and meaningful connections.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing mothers who are the true sunshine in their children’s lives.

Our students had an exciting time playing Vocabulary Slap Battle, a fun ESL game that helps them review new words through teamwork, speed, and quick thinking. Students raced to identify the correct vocabulary word and β€œslap” the answer first!

Learning English becomes even more meaningful when students are actively engaged and having fun in the classroom. Great job, everyone!

Learning is better together!

Through pair reading activities, our students are building confidence, improving pronunciation, and helping each other grow. By reading side by side, they practice teamwork while developing important literacy skills in a fun and supportive environment.
