🎉 CONGRATULATIONS! A NEW CHAPTER OF PARTNERSHIP BEGINS! 🇰🇭❤️

We are very proud and excited to announce that Volunteer Building Cambodia (VBC) and Hand 4 Cambodia have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen our cooperation and work together for the benefit of Cambodian communities. 🤝🇰🇭

This MoU represents more than just a document — it represents trust, friendship, teamwork, and a shared commitment to creating positive change. ❤️

By working together, we hope to create more opportunities to support families and communities through volunteering, community development, education, clean water, housing, and other meaningful projects. 🏠💧📚🌱

This week we are building House #670 in just 3 days 🏠

This family is a grandfather and grandson, and this week they will be able move into a safe and secure home.

This weeks project is kindly donated by Kilvington Grammar, and we are also joined by 3 teachers and 19 students who have come to help build this new home.

The group have requested no photographs this week, so we focus on the family and the build progress instead. 📸

Can we build a house in 3 days? Yes we can. ✅

Blessing Water for Better Luck! 🍀

In Khmer culture, the water blessing represents cleansing the body, mind, and soul. Removing all bad luck and negative energies.
Monks will chant while showering you with water, they will also offer you a small string bracelet to wish you good luck for the future.

For VBC volunteers, the water blessing is an option after the house blessing ceremony is complete. 🏠

VBC STAFF UPDATES! 📢

This month we warmly welcome three new staff members to the VBC family.

1. Mr. Sambath Sinn to the Volunteer Building Cambodia (VBC) team as our new Driver, Storekeeper & Purchasing Officer.

Sambath will support our daily operations through transportation, stock management, purchasing, and ensuring our project teams have the necessary materials and supplies.

2. Our new intern, CHHUN Rortana, who joined Volunteer Building Cambodia (VBC) at the beginning of September.

Rortana is a recent high school graduate with a strong passion for photography and video editing. He is excited to learn, develop his skills, and gain practical experience while contributing to our community work.

3. Mr. Ourng Ban (Ban) as a new Builder at Volunteer Building Cambodia (VBC).

Before joining VBC, Ban worked as a steelworker in Siem Reap town, where he gained valuable hands-on experience in construction. Now living in Run Ta Ek Techo Sen City, Ban is excited to bring his skills and experience to VBC and contribute to building safe and better homes for families in need.

We are very happy to have these guys as part of our team and look forward to building stronger communities together! 🤝🏠

House #669 Blessing Ceremony 🎉

This morning we returned to the site for the final day, the day we handover the house to the family. It was a beautiful morning, and the first house blessing experience for Merryl and Illona, the smiles on their faces say it all. 😁

And even after experiencing many house blessings, the magic of it clearly never disappears as the Bundy team often describe it as the highlight of the week.

A massive shoutout to our volunteers, and of course Robert Bundy for sponsoring a full set for another family in need. Your kindness continues to make huge impacts in rural Cambodia, and we look forward to 2027 already! 💙

Last week we decided to do something different for VBC. 💪
With three houses donated by the lovely Dean Grande, we contacted three local universities to invite students to come and join us on-site. ⚒️
We were happy to have many passionate students doing their bit for rural communities, and got chance to chat with some of them about why they chose to join us…
