Sunshine Free English School For Kids was founded by Cheak Chuom in Meanchey Village, Siem Reap, Cambodia. Cheak was born in a poor family in the remote countryside which is about 40km west of Siem Reap town and was born in a farming family with five siblings. He is the eldest brother in the family and only one who graduated University. He was able to finish the school because of the strongly supp
ort by his aunt as his mom passed way since he was 16. He finally got chance to work in the tourism section as a local tour guide and working as a tour leader through Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos currently. After working as a local guide and tour leader for many years, he found out that Language and the ability to speak foreign languages is very very important to the young generation in his hometown in Siem Reap, Cambodia, especially English, is a huge advantage for the kids to guarantee them a brighter future. As Cheak is one of the many boys from this village, he has been trying his best to start a Free English Classes for all the children in his village and the others. In short, he has tried to bring back to his village and aimed to see all the children get a better education and bright futures. To build a school (or as it is, any building anywhere) one needs land to build it upon. It is here, where Cheak started on the land of his farther-in-law. Cheak was allowed to build the school and with this permission of his father-in-law, Cheak started to cut down banana trees, digging the ground to place a plastic pipe as a water drainage on the slightly slopy field. With the help from other villagers and his little students, all grateful and happy to get a free English school for their children, helped laying bricks, filling up the basement with soil.
