I just spent the last 3 weeks in Cambodia to attend their annual dance game tournament (CPF 2026). It was supposed to be a 1 week trip (Which ended up getting extended to 3 weeks)
Their event is particularly noteworthy, as each year the organizers invite a special guest from another country. Last year it was Fefemz; this year, Choi Sun, both exceptional players who infuse the local community with skill and motivation.
Moreover, it's backed by more sponsors and support than I've seen in my 27 years of dance gaming. This event is unique, as it aims to provide food and vital support for Cambodia's impoverished communities.
So I decided to extend by trip by an additional 2 weeks, so I could travel 6 hours north of the capital of Phnom Penh, with the local dance game community, to the rural villages of Cambodia. We cooked food and served the local children with support of the DAIL Community.
Big-name players? A high-stakes tournament? And where exactly is Cambodia on the map? The video takes you through my three unforgettable weeks in Cambodia, through my eyes, capturing the revival of a long-lost, World Pump Festival-style event that's finally reaching the masses in 2026.
The entire prize pool of $2000 was donated in the form of 3300lbs of rice, $500 USD and in-person cooking and preparing.
