Praying For Peace πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

John Giovannetti Giving (JGG) has worked the last 17 years to improve the lives of Cambodian youth. As a result of JGG's effort, the work of many other organizations like JGG, and the achievements of the Cambodian government, the nation made great strides in recovering from the devastating conflicts that it experience in the past. Unfortunately, Cambodia, once again, faces a serious threat to its sovereignty, and to the progress the country has so recently achieved.

Many people from around the world will read about the Cambodian/Thailand conflict. Yet, they posses only a limited understanding of either country's history. However, it should be easy enough to judge that Thailand's attack is clearly disproportionate in nature.

Thailand has 72 million people. Its large miliary force has many advanced weapons including modern fighter aircraft such as the F-16 which are used to deadly effect, not only against soldiers, but against the civilian population and Cambodian heritage sites.

Cambodia, meanwhile, with a population of only 18 million has a small army with limited and more basic equipment. It has no fighter aircraft of any generation. Thailand's behavior is not only unfair and largely without merit, it is entirely unnecessary.

Please pray that international leaders can bring the parties together in a manner that quickly results in a peaceful resolution to their differences. Pray that children can return to their classrooms. Pray for the protection of the innocent people of Cambodia and Thailand. πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

JGG's Founder and Chairman explore Pursat's floating villages!

At the invitation of H.E. Ty Thany, JGG joined a group of government officials on a trip to floating villages on the Tonle Sap river. The purpose of the trip was to study the possibility of JGG funding the construction of a floating medical clinic to support 3 villages. We hope to make the final decision in the next few months. It was a great trip! Everybody was so nice and helpful!

Dear Friends of JGG,

Everyone of the students we have the pleasure to know and help has a special story. In this report we introduce you to two of them. The full tale for each remains to be told. That could take many years more. However, they have already made some big steps and overcome even greater obstacles. I wish everyone who has an interest in JGG could meet them. They are inspiring.

Attending the event were 585 school students and 350 of their parents, 9 school principals, 6 school vice principals, 22 teachers, and 7 commune and district administrators, including the District Director of Education for Pouk district.

Adding to the celebration were the many gifts presented by JGG to the attendees.
