On 19th August 2026, the technical team of the PROFERTIL Project of Agri-Sud International in Cambodia, representatives of Green PROFERTIL company, Cambodia, and technical officials representing the Provincial Departments of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and Commerce participated in a meeting to discuss the trademark and labeling of the biosolids fertilizer produced under the Faecal Sludge Management Project, Phase II (PROFERTIL Phase II).

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Chek Kimchun, Director of Administration of Siem Reap Provincial Administration and Deputy Project Manager, together with his team.

The meeting aimed to:
1. Monitor project implementation progress, including the registration of the organic fertilizer with relevant ministries and field tests.
2. Coordinate documentation with relevant ministries.
3. Discuss challenges encountered during project implementation.

On 18th August 2026, the PROFERTIL Project team of Agrisud International Cambodia, together with the operational team of Green PROFERTIL company, Cambodia, welcomed Mr. Simon Baliteau from Agrisud International, France, during his visit to the F***l Sludge Treatment Plant (FSTP).

The visit focused on reviewing the progress of the biosolid recycling and organic fertilizer production activities, with the participation of Agrisud International Cambodia, which plays a role in providing technical coordination and supporting the registration of the fertilizer product.

On 14th August 2026, the technical team of Agrisud International Cambodia, representatives of Green PROFERTIL Cambodia, and the operating team of the F***l Sludge Treatment Plant (FSTP) has facility welcomed the Deputy Director of the Department of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation of Siem Reap Province and his team for a site inspection.

The visit aimed to inspect the facility following the submission of registration documents for the establishment of the biosolids production enterprise by Green PROFERTIL Cambodia. It is also important to note that the enterprise registration represents an important step toward officially initiating the business operations for the production of biosolid fertilizer.

From 12th to 14th August 2026, the technical team of the PROFERTIL Project of Agrisud International Cambodia, together with commune agricultural officers and participating farmers, conducted the following activities:
1. Transplanting lettuce after the second nursery stage in the Krabei Riel area, following the designated field tests treatments.
2. Collecting data on nursery seedlings, cucumber, and lettuce after 14 days of nursery growth, as well as completing the field tests.

These activities were conducted in four target areas:

• Krabei Riel Sangkat, Siem Reap City
• Kandaek Commune, Prasat Bakong District
• Romchek Commune, Banteay Srei District
• Khnang Phnum Commune (Phnom Kulen), Svay Leu District.

នាព្រឹកថ្ងៃទី១៤ ខែសីហា ឆ្នាំ២០២៦ បុគ្គលិកគម្រោងរបស់អង្គការអាគ្រីស៊ុត បានចូលរួមក្នុងកម្មវិធីសិក្ខាសាលាស្តីពី ការផ្ទៀងផ្ទាត់ផែនទីបង្ហាញផ្លូវ សម្រាប់កែលម្អខ្សែច្រវាក់តម្លៃកសិផល និងពិធីប្រគល់កុំព្យូទ័រយួរដៃ និងម៉ាស៊ីនបោះពុម្ព ចំនួន ២០ គ្រឿង ជូនដល់សហគមន៍កសិកម្ម និងសហគមន៍តំបន់ការពារធម្មជាតិ ដែលទទួលបានការគាំទ្រពីគម្រោង គដ់។

កម្មវិធីនេះត្រូវបានរៀបចំឡើងដោយ អង្គការស្បៀងអាហារ និងកសិកម្មនៃសហប្រជាជាតិ (FAO) ប្រចាំប្រទេសកម្ពុជា ដោយមានកិច្ចសហការជាមួយ ក្រសួងកសិកម្ម រុក្ខាប្រមាញ់ និងនេសាទ និង ក្រសួងបរិស្ថាន។
គោលបំណងសំខាន់ៗនៃកម្មវិធី រួមមាន៖(១). ប្រគល់ និងទទួលកុំព្យូទ័រ ម៉ាស៊ីនបោះពុម្ព ព្រមទាំងទឹកថ្នាំ ជូនដល់សហគមន៍កសិកម្ម និងសហគមន៍តំបន់ការពារធម្មជាតិ និង (២). បង្ហាញអំពីសកម្មភាព និងសមិទ្ធផលនានារបស់គម្រោងដែលបានអនុវត្តកន្លងមក ព្រមទាំងប្រមូលធាតុចូលបន្ថែមពីអ្នកចូលរួម ដើម្បីចូលរួមក្នុងការរៀបចំផែនការយុទ្ធសាស្ត្រ និងផែនការសកម្មភាពសម្រាប់ការអនុវត្តបន្តរបស់គម្រោង។

On August 14,2026, Agrisud’s project staff participated in a workshop on “Validation of the Provincial Roadmap for Improving Agricultural Value Chains and handover ceremony of 20 sets of laptops and printers to agricultural cooperatives and community protected areas that are supported by the Pearl Project.

The event was organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Cambodia, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and the Ministry of Environment.

The main objectives of the event were to:(1). Hand over and receive computers, printers, and printer ink for agricultural cooperatives and community protected areas (2). Present the activities and achievements of the project implemented to date, while collecting additional inputs and recommendations from participants to support the development of the project’s strategic plan and action plan for future implementation.

The event was attended by approximately 80 participants, representing relevant ministries and institutions, provincial administrations, departments, districts, agricultural cooperatives, community protected areas, and several relevant non-governmental organizations.

Today, Friday, August 14, 2026, Agrisud team wented to Rohal village, Ta Siem commune, Svay Leu district, to meet with local farmers and explore the possibility of introducing cashew trees into existing farming systems.

The field visit provided an opportunity to better understand local agricultural practices, observe the characteristics of the farming areas, and assess the conditions for developing cashew production.

The objective is to explore diversified farming systems in which cashew trees could be integrated with crops already grown by local families. This approach aims to diversify production and sources of income, while promoting sustainable agricultural practices adapted to local conditions.

This first step will help us better assess the potential for cashew production in the area and, together with farmers, identify the agroforestry systems best suited to their farms.

An approach based above all on listening to farmers, understanding their practices, and developing solutions adapted to their needs.

ថ្ងៃទី ១០ ខែ សីហា ឆ្នាំ ២០២៦, បុគ្គលិកអង្គការអាគ្រីស៊ុត ផ្នែកតាមដាន និងវាយតម្លៃបច្ចេកទេស បានចុះពិនិត្យមើល កសិករក្នុងគម្រោង លើសកម្មភាពដាំបន្លែ ក្នុងនោះយើងបានជួបកសិករនៅក្របីរៀល លើសកម្មភាពផ្ទះសំណាញ់ និងកសិករថ្មីនៅឃុំរំចេក ដែលដាំនៅទីវាល។

ចំពោះកសិករនៅក្របីរៀលបានកំពុងមមាញឹកក្នុងការដាំបន្ត និងខ្លះកំពុងប្រមូលផល សម្រាប់ផ្គត់ផ្គង់ជូនទីផ្សារសមាគមន អ្នកដាំបន្លែសុវត្ថិភាពសៀមរាប ខណៈដែលកសិករនៅឃុំរំចេក ដាំសម្រាប់ផ្គត់ផ្គង់ក្នុងតំបន់ និងបំពេញតម្រូវការក្នុងគ្រួសារ។
បញ្ហាប្រឈមកំឡុងពេលដាំដំណាំ មួយផ្នែកធំលើដំណាំទីវាល ដោយសារត្រូវរងការគម្រាមកំហែងពីកម្លាំងខ្យល់ និងភ្លៀង។

On August 10, 2026, staff from Agrisud International’s Technical Monitoring and Evaluation team conducted a field visit to monitor project farmers involved in vegetable production activities. During the visit, we met with farmers in Krabei Riel who are implementing the net-house vegetable production activity, as well as new farmers in Romchek Commune who are growing vegetables in open fields.

The farmers in Krabei Riel were actively continuing their vegetable production activities, while some were harvesting their produce to supply the market through the The Green Farmers Siem Reap. Meanwhile, the farmers in Romchek Commune were producing vegetables mainly to supply the local market and meet household consumption needs.

Challenges During Crop Production

One of the major challenges, particularly for open-field vegetable production, is the risk posed by strong winds and heavy rainfall, which can negatively affect crop growth and production.

From 4th to 7th August 2026, the technical team of the PROFERTIL project of Agrisud International Cambodia, together with Commune Agricultural Officers, participated in preparing and implementing field test activities in the following four locations:
• Krabei Riel Sangkat, Siem Reap town,
• Kandek Commune, Prasat Bakong District,
• Rom Chek Commune, Banteay Srei District,
• Khnang Phnum Commune (Kulen Mountain), Svay Leu District.

The activities conducted included:
• 4th August: Preparation of the experimental plots and application of basal fertilizer to the lettuce crops in Krabei Riel and Romchek.
• 6th August: Transplanting lettuce seedlings into the respective experimental treatments in Kulen and Kandek.
• 7th August: Collecting data on the number of dead cucumber and lettuce seedlings nurseries, and transplanting lettuce seedlings into the respective experimental treatments in Rom Chek.

On 6th August 2026, the technical team of the PROFERTIL Project of Agrisud International Cambodia, together with the operational staff of the F***l Sludge Treatment Plant (FSTP) has welcomed a fertilizer processing machinery specialist (Mr. Mang Sokleng) from the Royal University of Agriculture.

Objectives of the technical visit:
•To study and gain a better understanding of the organic fertilizer production chain at the treatment plant.

This technical visit is an important step toward supporting the installation of fertilizer processing equipment and preparing for its operation in very soon. It also strengthens technical collaboration between the two institutions and contributes to the promotion and development of fertilizer processing technologies in Cambodia.

Following the mission to the Royal University of Agriculture in Phnom Penh, whose technical team recommended that we visit a cooperative using their equipment for the final processing of organic fertilizers, the PROFERTIL team travelled to Kampong Thom Province on 5 August 2026 to visit the Prassat Samaki Agriculture Cooperative.

The visit provided an opportunity to observe several pieces of equipment used in the post-processing of organic fertilizers, including a grinder, a screening machine (sieve), and a fertilizer granulator. Unfortunately, the equipment was not in operation during our visit, so we were unable to observe the machines under actual working conditions.
