Young people across Cambodia may come from different backgrounds and communities, but many share common aspirations to learn, build a better future, contribute to their families, and participate in the development of their communities and country. In celebration of the 27th International Youth Day, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS) of Cambodia highlighted the theme “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations.” To turn these “common aspirations” into “common actions,” young people are encouraged to become responsible citizens with strong values, lifelong learners, creators of value and innovation, leaders of positive change, and partners in national development.

FH Cambodia contributes to this vision by strengthening young people through soft skills, leadership, communication, critical thinking, problem solving, financial literacy, gender equality, livelihood preparation, and other practical skills that build confidence, improve employability, encourage entrepreneurship, and promote active participation in community development.

On International Youth Day, FH Cambodia celebrates the potential, creativity, and resilience of young people and remains committed to working with families, communities, schools, local authorities, and government partners to help youth turn their aspirations into meaningful actions for a more productive, resilient, and hopeful future.

In partnership with the Siem Reap Provincial Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (PDAFF), FH Cambodia successfully delivered a training on Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) for farmers.

Participants learned practical techniques such as row intercropping, crop rotation, mixed intercropping, cover cropping, and integrated pest management to improve crop productivity, enhance soil fertility, conserve soil moisture, and reduce the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides.

Farmers also participated in hands-on learning activities, including compost making, preparation of botanical pest repellents, and soil mixing techniques for vegetable seedling cultivation.

FH Cambodia, in collaboration with the Siem Reap Provincial Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (PDAFF), successfully conducted a farmer training on free-range chicken production effective and sustainable.

The training covered key topics, including disease prevention, coop hygiene maintenance, vaccination, health management, and local feed preparation.

This activity was implemented under the project "Building Climate Resilience through WASH and Sustainable Livelihoods in Puok District."

📚 Strengthening Early Grade Reading for Better Learning Outcomes

FH Cambodia in Chong Kal District joined hands with the Oddar Meanchey Provincial Department of Education, Youth and Sport (POE) and the Chong Kal District Office of Education, Youth and Sport (DOE) to conduct a supportive monitoring visit on the implementation of the Early Grade Reading Package (EGRP) and the effective use of teaching and learning materials in classrooms.

The joint monitoring team visited four primary schools:
🏫 Hun Sen Prey Thom Primary School
🏫 Chong Kal Primary School
🏫 Kouk Spean Primary School
🏫 Cheung Tien Primary School

The visits provided an opportunity to observe classroom practices, support teachers in applying the EGRP methodology, and promote quality instruction that helps improve foundational literacy skills among young learners.

Following the school visits, the team engaged in reflective discussions with teachers and school leaders to recognize achievements, identify areas for improvement, and share practical recommendations to strengthen teaching and learning. The sessions also encouraged continuous development and reinforced teachers’ dedication to delivering quality education.

Together, these collaborative efforts contribute to improved learning outcomes and support the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport’s vision of ensuring that every child acquires strong foundational reading skills for lifelong learning.
