A logo is a big idea in a very small form.

The logo mark for our project Modern Architecture: Echoes + Reflections, alongside two other logos created by our resident Anagata, has been featured in Patch Work, the latest publication from UK-based design platform OFFCUTS.

This first edition of Patch Work curates 294 logotypes from designers and studios around the world, creating one collective archive of ideas, forms and visual languages.

Seeing three logos made in Cambodia sitting alongside hundreds of others from around the world is exciting. But for us, it represents something bigger.

Modern Architecture: Echoes + Reflections was never simply a branding project. It was a major celebration of the legacy of New Khmer Architecture through a contemporary lens, brought together by architects, designers, researchers, artists and others who cared enough to make it happen.

To see its identity now recognised in an international design publication is a welcome reminder that the work being done here has a place within a much bigger global creative conversation.

Cambodia’s design industry may still be building its place on the global stage. But the talent, ideas and ambition are already here. Sometimes, it takes the right people, the right project and enough belief to make something worth noticing.

It took a village to bring this project together. Thank you to all our partners — The Vann Molyvann Project New Khmer - Architecture Anagata Fedrigoni Special Papers and Seng Sophea Impressive Paper and more— for believing in the project and the shared vision behind it.

Vatey is one of the friendly faces behind our community at Raintree. As our Client & Events Executive, she brings warmth, energy, and a sharp eye for detail to everything she does, from welcoming our residents and responding to enquiries to creating events and experiences that bring our community together.

With a background in customer service and sales, Vatey knows how to make people feel welcome, connected, and at home. She’s all about creating the little moments that make being part of the Raintree community special.

Outside of work, Vatey is passionate about wellness and gender equity. On weekends, you’ll usually find her running along the riverside with her running crews.

Cambodian art-house films are making their mark on the international festival circuit. But reaching commercial cinemas at home is still a different challenge.

That’s why Becoming Human coming home matters.

For his debut feature, Cambodian director and Friend of Raintree Polen Ly had just nine months to write, shoot, and edit the film. Supported by the Biennale College Cinema programme, it was filmed in Battambang, including the city’s iconic Prasat Meas Cinema. The film follows two lives colliding against a changing landscape, exploring memory, human connection, and the emotional traces that places leave behind.

After premiering at the Venice International Film Festival and winning Best Actor at the Asian Film Festival, Becoming Human now returns to Cambodia.

For independent Cambodian filmmakers, an international premiere can be a milestone. But so is bringing their film home to a large audience, in the very places where it was made.

On 27th August, Becoming Human arrives in cinemas across Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Battambang.
