CanCham Cambodia congratulates OCIC and UNICEF Cambodia - ដើម្បីកុមារគ្រប់រូប on the signing of a multi-year partnership to invest in the future of Cambodia’s children and youth. 🇰🇭

Signed on 24 August 2026, the MoU brings together UNICEF’s expertise and OCIC’s private sector reach to advance children’s rights, responsible business practices, education and youth empowerment, family-friendly workplaces, and skills development for young people.

🏡 Urban Development Committee Meeting – August 7, 2026 🇨🇦🇰🇭

Thank you to our members and guests for joining this month's Urban Development Committee Meeting, where we explored the topic "Why Projects Fail and How to Stop It?" featuring Mr. Lyaun Hay

During the session, our speaker shared real-world case studies of projects from around the world, highlighting why some had failed and why some succeeded. Participants also contributed valuable insights by sharing their own experiences and perspectives.

✍️ Key realities discussed:
• Defining failure: Understanding what makes a project fail, is the first step toward identifying risks and improving outcomes.
• Common causes: Projects often fail due to many reasons including unclear objectives, weak leadership, poor communication, and ineffective stakeholder engagement.
• Preventing failure: Regular monitoring, evaluation, proactive risk management, and strong leadership are essential to keeping projects on track and achieving long-term success.

A special thank you to Mr. Lyaun Hay for sharing his expertise and practical insights, and to Penh House & Jungle Addition for providing the space for this month's meeting.

The company provides ethical garment production, uniforms, merchandise and custom apparel for businesses, organizations and international partners, while also operating its own contemporary clothing label.

Dorsu works with deadstock and responsibly sourced fabrics wherever possible, helping reduce textile waste while supporting skilled local employment. Its predominantly women-led team produces garments in Cambodia under fair working conditions, with a focus on quality, transparency and long-term partnerships.

🇰🇭🇨🇦On August 5, 2026, CanCham Cambodia, alongside Mr. Thierry Tea, representing our Honorary Board Member, Mr. Vincent Kou of OCIC Group were honoured to meet with H.E. Dr. Say Samal, Minister of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction, to discuss Cambodia's urban development priorities and opportunities for future collaboration.

We sincerely thank H.E. and the Ministry for the warm welcome and constructive exchange. Our discussion highlighted a shared commitment to advancing sustainable urban development through stronger partnerships and investment, with a focus on land management, urban planning, and the development of economically strategic cities.

We also explored opportunities to promote investment in infrastructure, education, banking, trade, energy, and food processing to support Cambodia's continued economic growth.

We look forward to strengthening our collaboration and working together to advance Cambodia's long-term urban development and sustainable prosperity.
