I’m glad to see visitors experiencing the Wildlife Release Station and seeing firsthand what goes into returning animals to the forest. The work our team carries out, from rescue to rehabilitation, is demanding but essential for the long-term survival of Cambodia’s wildlife.

Rainforests are truly the lungs of our planet, absorbing carbon dioxide, producing oxygen, and creating the rainfall that sustains countless ecosystems. The Cardamom Rainforest is one of the last great wilderness areas in Borneo-Mekong Basin, home to extraordinary biodiversity and vital to climate stability.

Congratulations to this outstanding young woman on her remarkable achievement. It is inspiring to see her hard work recognized at the national level. Thank you to H.E. Hun Many for his meaningful support and recognition, empowering rural students through education truly transforms lives and strengthens ’s future.

Since 2015, Wildlife Alliance has empowered women in rural Cambodia by providing scholarships, financial education, sustainable livelihood opportunities, and microcredits to enhance their living standards.
One notable example is Chrom Damphawat from Dei Tumneap village, Trapeang Rung commune, who received a scholarship in 2023 through the Southern Cardamom REDD+ Project, specializing in Accounting at Pannasastra University of Cambodia. She achieved the highest Grade A in her English class, earning recognition from H.E. Hun Many, the Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia and Minister of Civil Service.
The Southern Cardamom REDD+ Project is uplifting many rural women and their families, paving the way for a brighter future.

The Southern Cardamom REDD+ project is helping provide reliable access to clean drinking water for rural communities in the Cardamom Rainforest. Many families currently struggle to obtain water, often walking long distances to the nearest source or paying high transport costs just to bring water home.

These newly built wells will significantly improve daily life for villagers by offering safe water close to their homes.

I’m pleased to share my latest article in Forbes: “What The IEA May Be Overlooking About The Risks Of Hydropower”
https://www.forbes.com/sites/suwannagauntlett/2025/11/10/what-the-iea-may-be-overlooking-about-the-risks-of-hydropower/
In the piece, I argue that while the International Energy Agency (IEA) continues to champion large-scale hydropower projects as part of the global clean-energy transition, the reality is considerably more complex — and the time may have come to move on from hydropower’s dominant role.

The IEA's executive director recently made statements supporting hydropower. He underestimates the damage done by deforestation that hydropower dams requires.

You are only as strong as your team — and I couldn’t ask for a better one.

Every success we achieve comes from your unwavering commitment to protecting wildlife and preserving nature for future generations.

Nothing is achieved alone. It takes passion, courage, and teamwork - and I am proud to say, we truly have one of the best teams imaginable.

is not only about protecting forests and wildlife, it’s about people. The younger generations must understand its value and learn how they can be part of the solution. Education is the bridge that connects communities to conservation, giving them the knowledge and power to act.

I’m pleased to share my latest Forbes article, “The Race for Nuclear Power Dominance Accelerates.”
https://www.forbes.com/sites/suwannagauntlett/2025/09/19/the-golden-age-of-nuclear-power-accelerates/
In it, I discuss how nuclear energy has moved from an optional path to a critical foundation for the AI future and the 4th Industrial Revolution. From U.S.–UK transatlantic partnerships to China and Russia’s lunar reactor ambitions, the pace of innovation and competition is reshaping global energy strategy.

The article highlights how nuclear power’s ability to deliver reliable 24/7 energy makes it indispensable, not just for clean energy, but also for national security, economic productivity, and technological leadership in an AI-driven world.

Nuclear power will fuel the Ai future, secure our clean energy transition, and present opportunities for developed countries to favorably work with developing nations.

I’m pleased to share my latest Forbes article, “Carbon Capture Has a Hard Limit – and Wind Power’s Out.”

In it, I discuss new scientific findings showing that carbon capture and storage (CCS) cannot deliver the sweeping climate benefits once imagined. At best, CCS may reduce global warming by 0.7 °C, a reminder that it must remain a last-resort tool, not a primary climate solution.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/suwannagauntlett/2025/09/08/carbon-capture-has-a-hard-limit-and-wind-powers-out/

Carbon Capture and Sequestration (CCS) has an effective limit of 0.7 degrees. As "solutions" are proven irrelevant, mitigation is perpetually proven the best strategy.

I’m pleased to share my latest Forbes article, “Conservation Without Law Enforcement Is Pure Idealism.” In it, I discuss why conservation cannot rely on ideals alone—it must be backed by real enforcement on the ground.

From ranger patrols to anti-trafficking operations, law enforcement ensures that conservation commitments translate into lasting impact for both nature and communities. Without it, passion risks becoming empty aspiration.

Conservation isn't always diplomatic. Protecting nature requires strong action.
