Last week, Stop Online Harm (SOH) Cambodia team had the honor to meet with 11 indigenous youths (including 4 females) at the Cambodia Indigenous Youth Association-CIYA.
Participants from various Indigenous communities—including Kuy, Jarai, Brao, Suoy, and Kavet—engaged in a meaningful discussion on Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence (TFGBV) and introduced our Online Ambulance service to their communities.
At the same time, we learned about different forms of online harm occurring within their communities, including:
✅Discrimination and inappropriate language directed toward Indigenous communities.
✅Online scams involving fake prize notifications, online shopping fraud, and more.
We also took the opportunity to share information about our Call for Proposals and hope that CIYA and other Indigenous youth will apply. 💜
Many thanks to our friend, Phea, for connecting the SOH Cambodia team with CIYA, and to all the participants for sharing their voices and experiences with us. 💜
