Investing in Education, Empowering Cambodia’s Future 📚

On August 10, 2026, TFCF Cambodia (Taiwan Fund for Children and Families), in coordination with the Department of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation (DoSVY) Siem Reap, organized an official donation event to support nine under-resourced primary schools across Siem Reap Municipality and Soutr Nikom District.

The donation included 257 wall fans and 24 whiteboards, providing essential support to improve learning environments and create more comfortable and appropriate spaces for children to learn.
🏫 A total of 9 primary schools received educational support from TFCF Cambodia.

This contribution was made possible through the generous support of Zheng Kuo Temple, which continues to contribute to the well-being and educational opportunities of children in Cambodia.

For TFCF Cambodia, supporting education is more than providing equipment. It is an investment in children’s knowledge, opportunities, and future. We believe that a quality learning environment can help children learn more effectively, develop their potential, and have greater opportunities to build a brighter future.

💙 We hope that our contribution today will become part of a long-term investment in education in Cambodia, helping more children access better learning environments, grow with confidence, and pursue their dreams.

Investing in education today means investing in Cambodia’s future tomorrow.

Child Progress Report 2026🚸

To ensure data integrity and accountability, the TFCF Cambodia Sponsorship Team conducted a comprehensive Child Progress Report (CPR) orientation for staff and partner NGO teams.

The interactive sessions provided detailed operational guidelines, practical coaching, and hands-on practice. Participants mapped out every step of the CPR workflow from field measurements and capturing children's messages to data verification, image storage, and final quality control.

Equipped with shared standards and refined skills, our field team and partners are fully prepared to collect accurate, high-quality data. Together, we are committed to transparent reporting and continuous support for every sponsored child's growth and well-being.

Together for Every Child , Care, Love, and Opportunity 💙

Every child deserves to learn, grow, and live with dignity, regardless of where they come from, their family background, or their circumstances. At Taiwan Fund for Children and Families (TFCF) Cambodia, we believe that every child matters, and we are committed to providing care, support, love, and opportunities without discrimination.

Through this initiative in Siem Reap Province, we are pleased to contribute educational materials to support children and schools in communities where essential learning resources are still needed. As Siem Reap is one of Cambodia's most well-known and important tourism destinations, we believe that supporting children here is also an investment in the future of Cambodia.

This contribution is made possible through the kindness, generosity, and continuous support of people in Taiwan who believe in caring for children, loving children, and empowering children to build a better future. 🇹🇼❤️🇰🇭

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Wat Zheng Kuo (Zheng Kuo Temple) for generously providing financial support that made this project possible and helped turn this meaningful initiative into reality. 🙏

At TFCF Cambodia, we hope that every contribution, whether big or small, can bring meaningful change to children's lives. We will continue working together with local communities and partners to ensure that every child is cared for, supported, empowered, and given the opportunity to reach their full potential.

[2026 ASUS Foundation × Yangming University/NCTU Southeast Asia BAT Team]

July 17th: This morning, we held the first workshop of this trip, the Canva Visual Design Workshop, with participants being college students from Cambodia. Rather than simply positioning the course as software instruction, we viewed it as a starting point for building relationships with local youth. We hoped that through a collaborative learning process, they would understand each other's perspectives on local issues and accumulate potential for future collaborations.

In terms of curriculum design, the course began with self-introductions and icebreaker activities to help volunteers and college students get to know each other. This created a relaxed atmosphere, reducing initial awkwardness and fostering a more natural learning environment for sharing and discussion, allowing subsequent group discussions to proceed more naturally.

Once the course content began, we introduced the concept of design thinking, guiding participants to consider visual communication from the perspectives of the target audience, usage context, and core message, rather than simply focusing on layout or aesthetics. In addition to introducing the basics of Canva, the workshop also covered several design techniques and included a poster design practice session, allowing participants to translate the service theme into concrete visual works.

The overall focus of the workshop was not merely learning a design tool, but rather viewing visual design as a method of expression and communication through collaborative design and discussion. For us, the workshop also provided an opportunity to observe and understand how university students interpret local issues and how they organize their experiences and ideas through design.

In the afternoon, an ASUS flag-giving ceremony was held to express ASUS's support and sponsorship of the Family Fund for Children Organization (TFCF) in Cambodia. This donation included six computers for use in local education and service work. The ceremony also symbolized the cooperation and connection between corporate resources and international volunteer action.

July 19th This morning we went to the peace2 community for a class, and it was so much fun! Before today, we all thought our class was about oral health, so we spent the whole night checking and discussing how to conduct and prepare for it. A lot of funny things happened during the preparation process, and I don't know how to share them all. The next morning (today), while chatting with the college students who came to help, I realized that our team's schedule was different from the actual community flyer. Today was supposed to be about living environment and fire safety! I was terrified and rushed to tell everyone, and they were terrified too. We only brought oral health teaching materials and gifts, and we only found out five minutes before it was supposed to start. Luckily, someone rushed back to get the materials, and someone else helped save the projector from running out of battery, so we quickly got the class started.

Today was also our first time teaching a class with local college students. Thankfully, we spent a lot of time rehearsing yesterday, which made the translation go very smoothly today. During the class, we discovered that the community residents who participated were actually quite knowledgeable and very enthusiastic about participating in activities, which made us incredibly happy 🥳.

Halfway through the class, we retrieved some items we had left at our accommodation. One of the practical courses in our accommodation involved making mosquito repellent sachets. We originally planned to use cotton and essential oils, but upon arriving in Cambodia, we realized that our ideas were quite different from what the locals needed. We suddenly understood that our perspective was insufficient; the locals valued recyclable items that could be used with minimal cost, which was the complete opposite of what we had prepared. Fortunately, we recognized this issue a few days prior, giving us more time to discuss changes. Last night, we rushed to the supermarket to buy lemongrass and modified the sachet making process by chopping the lemongrass, putting it in a tea bag, and then squeezing it to release the aroma 👃. Although many interesting things happened on the way to buy the lemongrass, the course ultimately ended successfully, which was actually quite incredible.

The afternoon was spent visiting local community residents, my first time participating in this kind of fieldwork. The interviewees were residents who had participated in the course this morning, and we asked them questions about the environment and fires. What made me happiest during the interviews was the genuine interaction between people. Whether it was residents or college students doing translation, everyone sincerely shared with us, which was incredibly touching. Compared to previous fieldwork that helped us understand the community as a whole, today's course and interviews helped us understand the residents better, and the residents, in turn, understood us better.

Finally, in the evening, we went to the night market to see the palace and eat snacks. We bought some fried insects that looked like giant cockroaches. I ate half of one; it was delicious, but I guess I'll just have to try it in my next life.

I hope the rest of the time will go smoothly and peacefully.
