Last Friday, UNICEF and the World Health Organization (WHO) joined the Ministry of Health and partners for the official launch of the DHIS2 data platform — a major digital milestone toward a stronger, smarter, and more connected healthcare system in Cambodia.

The newss system will improve data sharing across the health sector, support faster and better-informed decision-making, and strengthen the quality and accessibility of health services, especially for women and children across Cambodia.

♿💙 Meaningful disability inclusion requires persons with disabilities and their representative organisations to be part of the decisions that shape policies, budgets, and public services that affect their daily lives.

💬 Building on last year’s engagement workshop, this week’s discussions brought participants together to exchange perspectives, strengthen advocacy efforts, and support more inclusive policymaking. Discussions also explored gender, child and human rights, and OPD-led research and evidence creation.

🤝 The workshop also marked the first ever OPD government dialogue with six ministries. It was co-organised by UNICEF and People's Action for Inclusive Development (PAfID) and jointly facilitated by organisations of persons with disabilities (OPDs).

🌏 The workshop is supported through ACCESS 2, funded by the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), which focuses on strengthening systems for disability inclusion and early identification in Cambodia.

At , Cambodian youth advocate Kao Menghorng- កៅ ម៉េងហ័ង joined fellow youth advocates from Nepal, the Philippines, and Australia took on UNICEF South Asia Regional Director, Sanjay Wijesekera, in a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors.

The competition was tough, but the questions that followed were tougher.
