Planète Enfants & Développement Cambodia Active in Cambodia since 1984, PE&D is a NGO dedicated to protect vulnerable children Every project aims at giving them autonomy.

Planète Enfants & Développement (PE&D) was created through the merge (in 2016) of two associations: Planète Enfants, founded in 1992 and Enfants & Développement, founded in 1984 in Cambodia. It is an international NGO, apolitical and non-denominational, entirely devoted to provide to vulnerable children the necessary conditions for their well-being and development. PE&D is committed to work in collaboration with beneficiaries and local actors and improve their capacities rather than assist them.

The Urban Diagnosis is a process of evaluating living conditions of inhabitants of a community to gain a better understanding of the realities experienced by the population before starting the constructions. 🏗🧱

Today is international children's day 🫶

At Planète Enfants & Développement, we believe that, to ensure the development of children, we must place them at the center of all our actions while also considering every aspects that gravitate around them.

So in all our projects, we consider :
🤰Who is closer to the children (their family and caregivers),
🏘️Where they live (their housing and community)
👩‍🏫What builds their skills for the future (their daycare and school)
🇰🇭The country they live in (the State).

That's why PE&D supports family development and housing renovation while working closely with the government.

“Not just a compliance but a social responsibility” 🤝

On Wednesday, Planète Enfants & Développement was invited by the International Labor Organization (Ilo) and Better Factories Cambodia on a workshop on “Strengthening provision on childcare services”

The discussion gathered employers, Business membership organizations and other stakeholders on the factory and community based daycares in Cambodia. Sophors, IECD project manager participated in the afternoon panel with one of our CBCC managers.

It was an enriching day with stakeholders ready for the next chapter of early childhood services in Cambodia! 👏

Meet the team : Sophors 💙

"My name is Mao Sophors, and I am the Project Manager for the Early Childhood project at PE&D. I oversee the implementation of activities, especially Community-Based Childcare Centers (daycares) and community preschools. 🧩🧸

I am passionate about Community-Based Childcare Centers because it provides a safe and nurturing environment for children while supporting working mothers. One of my most meaningful experiences is seeing community caregivers trained to become professional and provide quality care to children in their own communities. 🌱

I work in early childhood education because I want Cambodian children to receive quality care, strong development from an early age, and support for their families.

In my free time, I enjoy gardening and cooking for my family. 🧑‍🍳"
