Empowering Women through Micro-Business Support under HALI Phase II

នៅថ្ងៃទី១២ ខែមិថុនា ឆ្នាំ២០២៦ ក្រុមការងារពង្រឹង និងអភិវឌ្ឍសហគមន៍ (CEDT) បានរៀបចំ កម្មវិធីប្រគល់សម្ភារៈអាជីវកម្មខ្នាតតូចដល់អ្នកទទួលផលនៃសកម្មភាពពង្រឹងសមត្ថភាពស្ត្រី និងលើកកម្ពស់សមភាពយេនឌ័រ ក្រោមគម្រោង ការធ្វើអោយប្រសើរឡើងនូវលំនៅឋាន និងលក្ខខណ្ឌ រស់នៅ‍ដំណាក់កាលទី ៣ (HALI ដំណាក់កាលទី៣)» ។ អ្នកចូលរួមមានចំនួន ២០ នាក់ ដោយមានវត្តមានចូលរួមពីសំណាក់ តំណាងសង្កាត់ច្បារអំពៅ២ តំណាងមេភូមិដើមស្លែងទី១ ប្រធានសហគមន៍ស្មសាន ១១ អ្នកទទួលផលអាជីវកម្មខ្នាតតូច និងតំណាងអង្គការដៃគូគម្រោង HALI រួមមាន អង្គការពិភពកុមារ និងអភិវឌ្ឍ (PE&D) និងអង្គការសមត្ថភាពខ្ញុំ (SKO) ។

On June 12, 2026, the Community Empowerment and Development Team (CEDT) organized a Micro-Business Materials Handover Ceremony to promote women's empowerment and gender equality under the Housing and Living Conditions Improvement Project (HALI Phase III). A total of 20 participants attended the event, including 19 women. Participants included representatives from the Sangkat Office, village authorities, community leaders, 11 beneficiaries, and partners from the HALI Project (Planète Enfants & Développement Cambodia) and Samatapheap Khnom Organization (SKO).

This event marked a meaningful milestone for the micro-business beneficiaries. Through the distribution of business materials and equipment, beneficiaries will be able to start new businesses or expand their existing businesses, helping to increase their income and improve their families’ living conditions.

With the strong support and cooperation of local authorities and partnership with Planète Enfants & Développement Cambodia, the event was conducted smoothly and saw active participation from all stakeholders. This collaboration contributed to strengthening community engagement and enhancing the economic well-being of beneficiary families.

នៅថ្ងៃទី ២៨ ខែឧសភា ឆ្នាំ២០២៦ អង្គការក្រុមការងារពង្រឹង និងអភិវឌ្ឍសហគមន៍ (CEDT) បានរៀបចំកម្មវិធីឆ្លុះបញ្ចាំងវឌ្ឍនភាពនៃការអនុវត្តគម្រោង ពង្រឹងសមត្ថភាពស្ត្រី និងលើកកម្ពស់សមភាពយេនឌ័រ ក្រោមគម្រោង ធ្វើឱ្យប្រសើរឡើងផ្នែកលំនៅឋាន និងលក្ខខណ្ឌរស់នៅ (HALI) ដំណាក់កាលទី៣ នៅសាលាសង្កាត់ឃ្មួញ ខណ្ឌសែនសុខ រាជធានីភ្នំពេញ ដោយមានអ្នកចូលរួមសរុបចំនួន ៣១ នាក់ ។
កម្មវិធីនេះត្រូវបានរៀបចំឡើងក្នុងគោលបំណង៖
✅ ឆ្លុះបញ្ចាំងពីដំណើរការ និងលទ្ធផលនៃការអនុវត្តគម្រោង ជាពិសេសផ្ដោតលើសកម្មភាពក្នុងការចងក្រង និងពង្រឹងក្រុមសន្សំប្រាក់ក្នុងសហគមន៍ ព្រមទាំងការគាំទ្រកញ្ចប់អាជីវកម្មខ្នាតតូចដល់សមាជិកគោលដៅ ទាំង ២០ នាក់នៅសហគមន៍ សែនសប្បាយ ។
✅ បង្ហាញពីសមិទ្ធិផល និងការផ្លាស់ប្តូរជាវិជ្ជមានដែលសម្រេចបាន បន្ទាប់ពីទទួលបានការគាំទ្រពីគម្រោងអស់រយៈពេល ១ ឆ្នាំ តាមរយះបទបង្ហាញ និងវីដេអូចែករំលែក ។
✅ ផ្តល់វេទិកាសម្រាប់សមាជិកក្រុមសន្សំប្រាក់ និងអ្នកទទួលផលពីអាជីវកម្មខ្នាតតូច ចែករំលែកបទពិសោធន៍ បញ្ហាប្រឈម និងភាពជោគជ័យដែលពួកគេទទួលបានក្នុងការពង្រឹងជីវភាពគ្រួសារ និងការចូលរួមអភិវឌ្ឍសហគមន៍។

On May 28, 2023, the Community Empowerment and Development Team (CEDT) organized a Reflecting on Progress: Empowering Women and Promoting Gender Equality under the HOUSING AND LIVING CONDITION IMPROVEMENT PROJECT (HALI PHASE III). The event was held at Khmounh commune hall, Sangkat Khmounh, Khan Sen Sok, Phnom Penh and brought together 31 participants.
The program is intended to

- Reflecting on the progress and results of project implementation—particularly the activities undertaken to compile and strengthen community savings groups, as well as to support small business packages for all 20 target members of the community
- Demonstrate the achievements and positive changes resulting from one year of project support through presentations and shared videos.

- Provide a platform for savings team members and beneficiaries of small businesses to share their experiences, challenges, and successes in strengthening family livelihoods and contributing to community development

Through the program, significant positive changes were observed among beneficiaries as a result of the support provided throughout the project period. Both small-business beneficiaries were able to increase their livelihood promotion income and build the capacity to save money for both current and future needs. Meanwhile, the savings group continued to manage the savings group processes, led by the Savings Group Committee. The program also highlights, this is also reflected in women’s improved ability to manage their finances and household circumstances, leading to continuous improvement.

Capacity Building for Saving Committee Members

នៅក្នុងខែ ឧសភា អង្គការ CEDT បានរៀបចំវគ្គបណ្តុះបណ្តាលស្តីពី ការពង្រឹងសមត្ថភាពគណៈកម្មការ និងក្រុមប្រឹក្សា នៃក្រុមសន្សំ កម្ចីប្រាក់ ដោយមានវត្តមានចូលរួមចំនួន ៩ នាក់ ក្នុងនោះស្ត្រី ៨ នាក់ ដែលមានចំនួន ៦នាក់ ស្រ្តី ៥នាក់ បានអញ្ជើញមកពីសហគមន៍សែនសប្បាយ និងមានចំនួន ៣នាក់ជាស្រ្តីមកពីសហគមន៍ស្មាសាន ។
វគ្គបណ្តុះបណ្តាលនេះបានរៀបចំឡើងក្នុងគោលបំណងដើម្បីពង្រឹងសមត្ថភាព ចំណេះដឹង និងជំនាញដល់គណៈកម្មការក្រុមសន្សំប្រាក់ក្នុងការគ្រប់គ្រងបញ្ជីប្រាក់សន្សំ ការទូទាត់កម្ចី និងការធ្វើទំនាក់ទំនងក្នុងក្រុមប្រកបដោយតម្លាភាព ប្រសិទ្ធភាព និងនិរន្តរភាព ។

In May 2026, CEDT have conduct training to Capacity Building for Savings Commissions and Councils. There were 9 participants in total, of which 8 were women. Of the 8 women, 6 were from the Sen San community and 3 were from the Sam San community.
The training was organized with the aim of strengthening the capacity, knowledge, and skills of savings group committees in managing savings statements, processing loan payments, and conducting team communications in a transparent, efficient, and sustainable manner.
During the training, participants discussed and learned about:
• To reflecting on the roles and responsibilities of the savings group committee.
• To managing and recording financial data
• To meeting arrangements and members’ engagement
• To group fund management and lending
• To addressing challenges and strengthening solidarity within groups
• To developing an action plan for future
Through sharing experiences and engaging in group discussions, participants joyfully expanded their knowledge and understanding, gaining practical insights they could apply to strengthen the management of their saving group more effectively and robustly.

CEDT would like to extend our sincere appreciation to all speakers, partners, representatives from local and international NGOs, and other stakeholders who participated in our Urban Platform for Settlement Support under the theme “Acting Together for Urban Settlement Improvement.”

CEDT, in partnership with Planète Enfants & Développement Cambodia under the Housing and Livelihood Improvement (HALI) Phase 3 Project, implemented this thematic platform, bringing together diverse organizations and practitioners to exchange experiences, share lessons learned, and explore collaborative approaches to improving urban settlements. The discussions highlighted practical experiences in participatory mapping, housing solutions, stakeholder engagement, and the legal and policy frameworks that influence urban settlement development in Cambodia.

We are especially grateful to our speakers for generously sharing their expertise, insights, and experiences. Their presentations provided valuable perspectives on both the practical and policy aspects of urban settlement improvement, helping participants better understand current challenges, opportunities, and approaches for supporting urban communities.

We also deeply appreciate the active engagement and valuable contributions of all participants. The exchange of ideas and experiences created a meaningful space for learning, dialogue, and partnership, reinforcing the importance of working together to address urban development challenges and promote more inclusive solutions.

At CEDT, we believe that sustainable urban improvement requires strong collaboration among civil society organizations, development partners, government institutions, and other stakeholders. ☘️Celebrating National Environment Day and World Environment Day – 5 June☘️

Slek Phyap is a unique non-timber forest product (NTFP) that supports local livelihoods and reflects the close relationship between people and nature. Through consultation with local communities, it has been identified that this rare plant is found only in Mondulkiri province, within the Phnom Nam Lyr Wildlife Sanctuary. It is mostly located in the areas of the old villages of Lammes and Lampe, which are sacred forest sites with ancestral burial grounds and rich wildlife habitats, covered by natural forest and vegetation.

When forests are conserved and sustainably managed, valuable resources such as Slek Phyap continue to provide economic, social, and environmental benefits to local communities. For the Indigenous Bunong communities, Slek Phyap is not only a valuable non-timber forest product, but also a source of livelihood, culture, and identity for many Indigenous communities.

On this National Environment Day and World Environment Day, we recognize and appreciate the efforts of local communities, authorities, and partners who work together to protect forests, conserve biodiversity, and promote the sustainable use of natural resources. Their contributions are essential in ensuring that natural resources continue to support the livelihoods and well-being of present and future generations.

This was the theme of Yesterday's 'Urban Poor Settlement Support Platform (UPSS)’ workshop in which organizations and stakeholders shared good practices and approaches in support of Informal settlements. 🏘️

🍀Community Consultation on Collective Land Registration Mapping ☘️

តាមរយៈសំណើររបស់សហគមន៍ជនជាតិដើមភាគតិចក្នុង ឃុំដាក់ដាំ ក្រុមការងារ CEDT បានជួយសហគមន៍ក្នុងការរៀបចំកិច្ចប្រជុំនៅថ្ងៃទី09 ខែឧសភា ឆ្នាំ2026 ដើម្បីបង្ហាញនិងផ្ទៀងផ្ទាត់ផែនទី ដីចុះបញ្ជីដីសមូហភាព របស់សហគមន៍ជនជាតិដើមភាគតិចភូមិពូឡេះ និងភូមិពូត្រែង ពូឆប ស្ថិតនៅឃុំដាក់ដាំ ស្រុកអូររាំង ខេត្តមណ្ឌលគិរី ។ កិច្ចប្រជុំនេះបានផ្តល់ឱកាសឱ្យសហគមន៍ពិនិត្យព័ត៌មានផែនទី លើកឡើងពីកង្វល់នានា ធានាភាពត្រឹមត្រូវនៃការពិនិត្យលើផែនទីដីសមូហភាព និងរៀបចំផែនការសកម្មភាពសម្រាប់ការប្រមូលទិន្នន័យដែលនៅខ្វះខាត។ កិច្ចពិភាក្សានេះ មានការចូលរួមពីគណៈកម្មាធិការសហគមន៍ចំនួន ១២នាក់ ស្ត្រីចំនួន ៥នាក់ និងយុវជនចំនួន ៥នាក់។

In response to a request from Indigenous communities in Dak Dam Commune, the CEDT team supported the organization of a meeting on May 09, 2026, to present and verify the collective land registration maps of the Indigenous communities of Pou Les, Pou Traeng, and Pou Chhob villages, located in Dak Dam Commune, Ou Reang District, Mondulkiri Province.

The meeting provided an opportunity for community members to review the mapping information, raise concerns, ensure the accuracy of the verification of the collective land maps, and develop an action plan for collecting missing data.

The discussion was attended by 12 community committee members, including 5 women and 5 youth participants.

🌿 Community Participatory Mapping on Natural Resources 🌿

Community members, including youth, women, and spiritual leaders, came together to participate in mapping their natural resources and land.

This activity helped the community to identify land issues, discuss land-use planning, and explore the potential for community eco-tourism. They also identified important species and Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFPs) in their area.

Spiritual leaders contributed by identifying sacred areas and sharing traditional knowledge, while youth and women raised key concerns and ideas for the future.

The community also developed an urgent patrol plan for the Sleak Pype area to support their daily livelihoods, which are closely connected to the forest and traditional practices

This participatory process strengthens community ownership and supports sustainable natural resource management for future generations. 💚
