Kampong Cham Province: Annual Reflection Workshop on the Cha-Ching Money Smart Kids Phase III Year 1.
On October 1, 2026, the Child Rights Foundation and the Department of Primary Education jointly organized a workshop on the implementation of the Cha-Ching Basic Financial Education Program for Children (Phase 3, Year 1). The event was held at the Kampong Cham Provincial Department of Education, Youth and Sports and was officially opened by Ms. Kong Sopheavoteyt, Deputy Director of the Department of Primary Education, Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.
The workshop aimed to reflect on and share the achievements of the first year of Phase 3 with all stakeholders, including good practices, case studies, lessons learned, challenges, and opportunities for the next phase. As well as gather input from all stakeholders, especially the national, sub-national, and school-level working groups, to ensure the quality and effectiveness of project implementation next year. Furthermore to strengthen relationships and collaboration among all partners. The workshop was attended by 68 participants, including leaders of the Department of Primary Education, Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, and members of the national and sub-national project implementation committees, Prudence Foundation representative, school directors and teachers from Phnom Penh, Kampong Cham, Kampot, Siem Reap, and Kandal provinces.

Stung Treng Province: On September 22, 2026, in Preah Romkel Commune, Borey O’Svay Senchey District, Stung Treng Province, a group girl-led group with 12 girls and 2 boys—along with the Child Rights Foundation (supported by Plan International Cambodia)—organized a Climate Action dialogue and dissemination. The event focused on climate change response activities and the integration of climate and disaster-related issues into local planning processes, with the aim of​ ​(1) To strengthen the leadership and support the meaningful participation of girls and young women in climate change response activities and local-level planning processes, and (2) to share research findings and disseminate recommendations from girls to contribute to inclusive local climate action, community resilience, and gender equality.

The dialogue was attended by 88 participants—including 42 women such as the representatives of Stoeng Treng provincial Governor, MoEYS, MoWA, the Departments of Environment, Education, Youth and Sport, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and Women's Affairs, as well as local commune authorities, village chiefs, community people, children, and youth. Representatives of a girl-led group presented research findings on climate change and disasters, highlighting the impact on community members—particularly women and children. Commune authorities and the district administration presented information on service provision and interventions. A Panel discussion, the speakers who presents services, achievements, and interventions, and responded to questions.​ During the panel discussion, participants posed numerous questions to guest speakers representing various sectors, covering topics such as the environment, agriculture, education, health and sanitation, violence, infrastructure issues (damaged roads, drains, and broken bridges), and waste management. The speakers responded, provided further explanations regarding their interventions, and offered solutions to the participants.

Kampong Cham Province: On September 2 and 3, 2026, the Child Rights Foundation and the Department of Primary Education of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport organized a consultation workshop on “Developing the Content of the Cha-Ching Money Smart Kids for Integration into the Primary Learning Program (PLP).” The workshop was presided over by Ms. Kong Sophavotty, Deputy Director of the Primary Education Department, MoEYS. The workshop was attended by members of the Project Implementation Committee of PED, the PLP Technical Working Group, representatives from the Kampong Cham Provincial Department of Education, Youth and Sport (PoEYS), and the CRF project team, with a total of 20 participants, including 7 women. As a result, the two-day workshop achieved a successful and commendable outcome through detailed discussions and the collection of input from relevant stakeholders. These contributions supported the development of basic financial education content that is appropriate for children at the primary school level and can be effectively integrated into the PLP system.
